So quick back story. About a month ago I went into our local AD to see what was in stock. Absolutely zero models I was looking for. No SS models or anything new. So I started chatting about the Rolex line and the crazy business of being an authorized dealer in such a hot market. Walked out empty handed but had a good convo. A few weeks later, I walked in to check out stock and still not much in the case. Talked about new Basel watches and she said they had the new rose two tone GMT Master II in the back. Now this one I actually had on my list of watches. I bought it right on the spot... I asked her to keep me in mind if they happen to get a new Daytona-C in stock. I said it almost jokingly knowing that it was near impossible to obtain one MSRP...or so I thought. Fast forward only two weeks later and I get the call they have a black one in stock.. I was in shock. Told her I’ll be there in 15 minutes! And I can finally say I’m a proud owner of a beautiful black Daytona-C. Thank you Erica! Well it wasn't much to really do with fortune, it may have more to do with that full pm GMT he bought a couple weeks earlier. As has been stated, this is the only sure way to get a Daytona without any drama.

Congrats op on both watches. Both are stellar.

Edit...thought the GMT CHNR was the all gold model...so I would admit the ad did help out a bit....

Congrats and I disagree with the above, get the watch you want however you can, just waiting endlessly for some arbitrary and increasingly out of date retail price is far more costly to me now.

I was flat out told by my AD that if I bought a PM piece they could get me a Daytona C.

Makes the grey price pretty cheap then, and more AD moves like this and the grey price will keep rising.

I am going to Japan / HK on Thursday.
I will not buy a PM piece in order to buy A DayC.

What I am willing to do is to "kick back" cash to sales rep to buy just the DayC.
Let me report how that goes if I get the chance to do that.
