Buy what you went in for not what was offered. I prefer the LN personally so I am not voting for my favourite watch

It depends on what you want not what we think.

Let me explain why.

Buying an expensive watch is a very personal decision that has to be made by the individual making the purchase. Relying on the advice others give may result in you making a decision that will quickly turn rancid the moment your initial excitement at the purchase dissipates. Call it cognitive dissonance, or straight up plain disappointment.

TRF is full of opinions. There are those that believe all one needs is a Submariner (with some thinking it should be the first watch, something I find ludicrous but that’s another conversation). On GMTs, opinion will range from stick to the 5 digits, to go 6 digit, to the tired debate between the LN and BLNR (fortunately the new SS BLRO is still too rare to be thrown into the mix, but isn’t it interesting how the WG BLRO was considered a dog with ‘bad colors’ but the same bezel in a more AFFORDABLE price scale is considered a grail ...but I digress).

To your specific question - the LN is a beautiful watch. I had the option of buying one when I purchased my current Rolex (a BLNR), and I can assure you that the LN is a classic, clean and wonderful watch. Beautiful.

The BLNR is also a beautiful watch. The first bi-ceramic bezel in the world, the first bi-ceramic bezel by Rolex, and the first combination of Blue-Black in a GMT. The process that renders the cerachrome colors is as close to alchemy as one can get without the use of a magic wand.

However, both watches are the same outside the bi-bezel for the BLNR, a blue GMT hand for the BLNR, and a green GMT hand for the LN. The same watch.

As for the decision - buy the one that speaks to you. Why? Because if you buy what WE tell you, a month from now you’ll be looking at it and potentially regretting. There’s someone who picked up a Submariner Date LN and later made a post how he found it ‘boring.’

Select the one you want. If it’s the LN then chose it, if the BLNR take it. After all, it’s your money and your wrist

This, but I prefer the LN. If they were making a new Coke I’d wait for as long as it took though.

Hard to answer !
It pretty much depends on what you want.
Do you realize that if the BLNR is what you want, you won't give up on it ... ?
If you get the LN, you would be only trying to fix your immediate wish to own a GMT (Even though the Black is a stunning piece as well).

It has happened the same to me, very recently !
Last month, to fill my "need" of acquiring a new watch I bought myself a Breitling Navitimer 01 because I couldn't wait for the GMT BLRO, which was what I REALLY wanted from beginning.
Guess what...
Exactly 1 month after getting my Navitimer and with no hopes for a BLRO (maybe even wishing not to receive the call after spending a good amount on the Navi...), the saleswoman from my AD called me for a freshly arrived BLRO...

You are probably imagining what happened, right ?
Yes, I ended up with 2 watches ! The fact is that I wasn't planning to get the Navitimer but now I have no regrets whatsoever and I'm very happy with both watches although I spent almost twice the money that I had originally planned.

I’ve loved my LN. it’s been the best watch (for me) that I’ve ever owned in my life. I much prefer the look of the LN to the BLNR, but that’s just me.

I would wait on the BLNR as that was the watch that you originally wanted.

This is my advice as well. It will be much sweeter for the wait.

Why all the consternation! Why not get exactly what you went into the AD for (BLNR) and get it within days! How? By looking at the sales forums (especially this one, but there are others like TZ and WUS, assuming you're a member or willing to join), find a reputable seller (by posting an inquiry on that very question based on other forum members' experiences), and make the purchase. I've done that, as many forum members have, many times without ever regretting, especially since I always "buy the seller, not the watch", as the tried and true adage goes. You'll get a better deal if the BLNR has some mileage on it or no balance of warranty; however, in 20 years of buying or trading for Rolexes through the forums, both relatively new and vintage, I'm yet to ever require warranty-type service, only standard maintenance. Perhaps I've just been lucky; however I believe it has more to do with, once again, buying the seller, not the watch. Others may disagree, and there are always those who say they'd never buy a Rolex other than from an AD, or that it has to be shiny new (as if it won't look worn after a few desk dives). Of course, to each his or her own. Best of luck with your decision!

6 months is my wait limit so I would give the BLNR preference.

Great decision! I was going to suggest it too like others have done. I am thinking that if you got the LN, you'll always have that regret of not going for the BLNR. I'm in the same boat. I also want a BLNR. The LN is definitely nice, but I'm gonna hold out as well.

Good move. Post pics when it’s in. Never “settle” once you make up our mind. You will end up reselling to get what you wanted originally. Been there, done that.

I'd wait longer for the Batman myself (but I own one so I'm biased).

I have the LN and it's a great watch, but I sense your heart is with the BLNR. So that's what you should hold out for and you will be a happy person! Otherwise you'll always be wondering. Good luck. Cheers!

Good choice, always stick with your first choice, and go with your gut! You will never go wrong. And don't stray when month 4 and 5 come around! Wait for what you originally wanted!
