Skyrocketing AD price for BLNR
Is it normal for ADs to increase prices like crazy within 12 months?
Are ADs allowed to charge above SRP? This is what has happened in the UAE lately! Let me give you the numbers Aug 2017 - $8147 (10% discount given on SRP) Jan 2018 - $9482 (no more discount + new 5% vat) - so not really a price hike Aug 2018 - $10408 (including vat) Let me know your thoughts! My thoughts are, if you want the watch at that price then buy it.
If you do not want to pay that price then don't.

Seems to be a common practice for ADs outside of the U.S.

I recently went on holiday trip to Europe. When walking around central Turin, Italy I saw small Rolex AD boutique. Right in the window display there was Daytona black dial with ceramic bezel. I enter the store and ask if the watch is for sale. The guy respond - of course and handed watch to me. I was reaching for my credit card to pay. When I asked of the price he said $17.5K. I mentioned MSRP on the Rolex site. He explain that in Italy ADs marked 4-6k above that. So it maybe that in US it's not allowed to charge above MSRP and allowed in some other countries.
BTW, when I start walking toward the exit, he offered $16.5k for the watch. It would be interesting it OP contacted Rolex directly and do inquiry regarding price charged by AD in Dubai. |

Rolex should step up and either declare open season or cement the RRP.
Allowing AD's and a Greys to FIX the price point will finish them. I have >120 watches and Rolex represents about 10%. There are plenty of other brands as Rolex will find out especially in my case.

I say pass and focus your passion and energy on another
piece/reference... If enough people stop feeding the frenzy it will stop ! Decreasing demand/curbing ones appetite for such nonsense despite the marketing ploys of Rolex will eventually do them in. |

ADs are prohibited to sell above MSRP price. It's not legal by Rolex. You can report this AD to Rolex. You may get the watch and pay MSRP price if not less. The last you can do is to let this go. We need to teach bad ADs a lesson.

The price appears on Rolex.com for people located within the USA and other countries, but it does not appear on the WWW for everyone in all countries. Pricing is not standardized worldwide.

This: http://www.iheartwatches.com/Rolex_Mark-Ups_Gone.html
Also you may search on the internet. Lot of info about it. The best source is to call AD directly, which I did and was confirmed. |

Have any of you ever been quoted above MSRP in the US (BNIB from AD)? I haven't been... Haven't read any threads of it occurring in the US either

Call your local Rolex AD and ask them if they are allowed to sell over MSRP. They are contractually bound to sell at MSRP. That means they can't sell over or under. What they actually do is another thing but if they are caught they are in breach of contract.

Several US based AD’s have told me that their licensing agreement with Rolex prohibits them from selling over MSRP. Obviously they can under, but not above. I believe the licensing agreements are different outside of the US. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
