Current plan- 3 for 1

Hulk Batman and a black sub c for a wg dd40. I paid under msrp for all. I’d be left with a new black GMTC and the DD.

nope nope nope nope nope

Ultimately your call, but those are some great pieces... I personally would hold on to them.

Seems like you could sell outright and have enough for day date and some

I've never understood that argument as despite being similar, they're completely different watches that appeal to different people.

For example, I lust after Submariner in Steel with a black dial but I would never even look at a BLNR or Green Submariner. The same for a white gold Day Date.

As such, it's a personal decision that we can't make for you but if you would adore a white gold Day Date, go for it! :)

I understand completely your point, that is the whole purpose of different models. But I think op is trying to convey that since he owns all 4 different models he feels like he has the same watch just in different colors. This I completely agree with and is why I only own a BLNR and not a sub, bluesy, gmt ln, pepsi, ect... If you strip away the color you essentially have the same watch, all have a rotating bezel, same bracelet, same case size, practically the same dial, etc.

As for the original question, I would try and sell all the pieces first and if that doesn't pan out do the trade. IMO it doesnt matter the money being spent/lost, its a luxury want we dont need these watches anyway lol, the only thing that matters is if you love what you have and enjoy it!

Given that you have the GMTC and a DD as well, go for it if its a watch youve lusted after.

If you can get the money right, I'm not opposed to this. Although, I'd prefer to keep the BLNR. Which would leave you with the BLNR and the DD.

if i were to do this trade i would go for the YG champagne. gives you better variety imo but i'm not a fan of WG personally so i'm biased

Not a fan of the LVC or BLNR and the Sub can easily be replaced, I say go for it!

No way, you will regret it down the road. Those are three amazing pieces you'd be losing for a watch that is amazing but has way less versatility. I'd think pretty hard before doing this

I won't do it, at least I would keep the Hulk. WG DD as daily and the Hulk for weekend/vacation.

I'd keep the LVc too, and I'd sell 3 of 4 SS to go to a PM.

It’s not a bad trade value wise, but I’d prefer to keep the 3 SS references.. is the DD the only watch you are considering? Anything else from other brands? A pm jumbo perhaps?

I would do that, yeah. Either keep the LN if you want/need the GMT complication or the Hulk to go with whatever DD40 you decide on.

I’m not likely to keep the hulk instead of a black model. It’s very specific.

You know, there is a lot to be said for paring down, leaving you with 2 great and versatile pieces. Several years ago, I felt like my collection was getting a bit big, with great pieces barely getting any wrist time, and trimming down from 7-8 to 4 has been great, not to mention less $$ on servicing costs.

I'd do it. You'd probably get around 10k for the Hulk and BLRN and 7-8k for the SubC, so the value is about right. I also like a smaller collection and am not have a huge fan of having a bunch of sports watches. A DD and GMTC is a killer 1-2 punch.

I’d be far more inclined to keep what I have and add the DD 40 when I had the funds. I’d wear that rotation for a while and only then would I evaluate what to keep and what to let go—maybe You’d sell the DD 40!

If you really want the DD and the numbers work, go for it! One sports Rolex and PM DD are all one needs. Personally I would keep the Sub and DD but if you prefer the GMT that's the way to go! Good luck and post pics when you make the move.

I wouldn’t do that myself, but only you know how much you want the new one and hopefully how little you’ll miss the 3 that go.

Yes I’d do it. I don’t think I’d want to own 4 watches, few too many for me.
