New Member, looking to buy my first Rolex, question!
Hello! Been lurking for awhile here and now it's time to buy my first Rolex! Have a couple of questions for you guys...
I've narrowed it down to a silver dial, smooth bezel, oyster bracelet 16200 DJ with sticks. I am used to buying watches new, and would go for a brand new DJ but I just aesthetically prefer the previous gen so much more. I've done research on the best places to buy and saw that WatchChest has been recommended by TRF and elsewhere. They have a couple of 16200's that I'm eyeing, priced at around $4700. I know that this may be a bit on the high end of the price range for the DJ I want, but is it outrageous? If it's merely high, I am quite alright with paying the premium for a shop that apparently only sells mint condition watches, which is a plus for me as it removes any guesswork in buying pre-owned, and I do prefer my watches to be pristine. Also, they have a particular 16200 that has a full lume sticks dial. If I'm not mistaken, isn't that dial only on the new DJ's? I hear that Rolex will "upgrade" parts when they service watches, is that the case here, or was the dial replaced by whichever watchmaker? I will be contacting WC with these questions as well, but thought I'd get independent answers as well :) Cheers, John |
