How many here would be comfortable with just ONE watch?

Hi guys,

If for some reason, and owing to circumstances absolutely beyond your control, you were forced to sell off all your watches and keep just one (not important which one....just the one you like), would you be comfortable owning just ONE watch?

Vote with comments please.

Thanks - JJ

Perfectly happy!, There,s always that special one for whatever ones own personal reasons, so don't see the hardship to "have" to spend all my time wearing it, as that's the one that i get the most pleasure from!

Oops, I voted before I read the whole "reasoning"
Yeah, I could live with just one if I had too.

Just two

Ideally I would have just two watches. One for everyday wear preferably a tool watch and one for special ocassions - a dress watch if you like. The second watch would have a gold case and be a manual wound movement as it would only be worn for a few hours at a time.

I voted for more than one even though I am dreaming!

Yes I could live with just one watch, but have two that belonged to my
Father it would be very hard to let one go.The rest mean very little to me now, they are just watches, and could be replaced.

Well said Craig.
Amost daily I think how fortunate we are to be able to endulge in such things.
For me, I just like watches. I'm not wearing them to show off. If I were, I would go for much more bling.

No way I could make it on one- and if the rest of you are telling the truth, how come you hang out on watch forums? FACE IT! You have the disease! "Sure, I could make it with one"- give me a break.

The poll results are NOT what I expected. More people have voted that they would be comfortable with just ONE watch....that is a bit of surprise considering....well, you know what I mean!!

I know what you mean JJ. I sometimes get disguted with how fickle I get when it comes to watches. I think that this can be said for a majority of us on the forums that we change our tune in the blink of an eye. I went to look at Panerai's this weekend and ended up with the PO.

One per day? That is no problem at all for me.

I could go without a watch at all if my family needed those funds somewhere else. This hobby is all for fun and done with "fun" money.

Actually, I'm going through some rough financial spots right now and will probably try to sell a watch or two.

But ideally, I wouldn't want to have only one watch. They're just too neat to have only one.

Thanks, JJ.

With luck, one watch should solve the problem. I hate to let it go, but I never wear it. It's the only "dress" watch I have, which is probably why I never wear it.

This photo was taken soon after purchase in Zurich, about four years ago.

if other more important things came along such as health, family etc etc, i would not hesitate in selling all my watches, and wearing a cheap casio..its only watches at the end of the day.. hardly life and death

Well said mamas!
And Alan, I do hope it you & yours come out OK in the end, I'm sure you will mate!

I guess I'd be happy with just the one. That is, until I walk past the nearest jeweller, AD, read catalogues, stare at people wrists, read watch forums......

I voted for "Just One", but that really doesn't convey the right impression. If I absolutely had to, I could live with just one (and we all know which one that one is ). Having only one would make like much easier since I wouldn't have to make any decision each day about which one to slap on.

On the other hand, some of my watches have a lot of sentimental value that would make it difficult to part with them. But as others have said, they are only watches.
