Daytona C or SS Pepsi

I am contemplating to go grey on one of the watches given the long or almost eternal wait list.

I love both the black ceramic Daytona and SS Pepsi equally and thinking which of these is a more prudent choice assuming the price of grey may start stop escalating as demand and supply moves towards equilibrium.

neither are going to be easy to get for the foreseeable future so just get which one you like best.

Wild guess, Pepsi will calm down eventually, specially as newer references are released.
Perhaps will still command a premium as the BLNR does today but nothing like double the price as it currently is.
Daytona C doesn’t look like it will drop any time soon, specially with low production numbers,
If you like the Daytona C, that would be my choice over the two, if intending on going via Grey.

Depends on whether you want a chronograph or a GMT watch.

Simple.

Think the Daytona is the safer bet if pitching on the grey market. Mark up is less on the Daytona, the Daytona will continue to be the flagship ss Rolex (thus tighter supply) and I can’t see the Pepsi trading for $18k in one years time

I do not think that he will really listen to us, since he is going to drop 20 k for a grey market watch. IMO, it is a wasting on money. Go TT Daytona, AD.

I'm on board with others who suggest getting the one that you like most. I personally would have a lot of trouble deciding. I love the look of both watches, but love the look of the Daytona C with the white dial more. However, the Pepsi would be of more use to me with GMT and date features. Get both and the problem is solved! Lol! Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but good luck in whichever model you decide on.

Daytona provided you only ask about value. There is no way the premium for Pepsi will sustain at these levels at the same price of Daytona.

Obviously buy what you like. I think the Daytona in steel will always remain more exclusive even if the BLRO is the hot piece to get right now. What does the rest of your collection look like? Either one is a great one and only Rolex and both are versatile. If you just want my stupid vote: BLRO...

Love both, although I prefer the Daytona and own it and am not yet an owner of the Pepsi so I may be biased

Pepsi has more demand, but buy what you like best.

Daytona. IMO it is more comfortable and will always be in high demand. Pepsi is amazing, but VERY similar watches 116710LN and 116710BLNR can be had for MUCH less.

I actually own both and find the 126710 more comfortable than 116500 because of the jubilee. It is the most comfortable Rolex bracelet IMHO.

If you have decided to pay the marked up price, I’d go with the Daytona C. I feel like there will be more iterations of GMTs than there will be Daytonas but no one really knows.
