I think that may be an ‘89 service bracelet.

Is it missing a case gasket?

It wants a lume pip and new crystal too...

I’m sure somebody would pay 11k for this...

Price seems a hair high to me.

Bracelet is a service replacement (and shot), needs a crystal, most likely a movement service and all gaskets.

And based on age of service bracelet, budget a crown and tube as well (normally done with movement service- I think this late was still a 702 crown, but possibly a 703).

Based on that, I think a few thousand should come off the asking price to be fair.

Also, finding a good condition bracelet with correct date code will not be easy (or cheap). And I say that because I think this one is worth putting back to "correct" based on the case condition. It's pretty nice overall but needs some TLC in the details. Bottom crown guard appears a bit thinner than the upper- that could be the picture quality making it look bad...

All my Submariner 1680s had two crown guards.

I know the price is on the high side, however as I live in Australia these do not come up that often and I am factoring in things like import taxes etc. Based on all other late 1970's 1680s currently available, I havent been able to find one for under $15,000 AUD.

It has 580 end links, did the Z6 bracelet come with those or are they original to the watch?

Would anyone also happy to know what type of box these came with? I have googled it, but its a mash of Seahorse, crater and those plastic 80's display boxes.

Guess I'm alone in thinking this is an OK deal. It's not the deal of the century but judging from these images, you have a nice 1680 at a reasonable price. Case looks really nice, dial and hands a very nice color to them the bracelet appears to have some stretch without much wear on the links (great MY candidate) what's not to like? I would want much better images to make a proper judgement and I'd factor in a service but all in all it appears to be a sweet watch for 11K

Congratulations! Get some chrome polish from the nearest petrol station/auto store and give the crystal a going over. Then wear the hell out of it!!

I would advice to let that beautiful plexi alone and rather put a replacement on and keep the original one at home if the condition bothers him

Wear it in good health!
