D-blue old vs new
For the guys that have this amazing reference; is there room in a collection for both?

Yes, if you love the reference, it is ok to have multiple of the same. Get what you want and don't worry about what we think!

I don't have both but have the 116660 DSSD Blue and the SD43. The new bracelet is definitely wider and seems to make the watch look bigger overall. The original bracelet on the 116610 is thinner but not too thin. I think the difference will be small so if you are looking for a big difference, you won't find it. Some feel the older bracelet was too small. Also the lugs/bracelet area is flush now whereas the 116660 protrudes a bit.

I really don’t believe so. They’re so similar.

I think owning 2 is not needed. I bought the old style DSblue I like the bigger lugs and the thinner bracelet. I figured Rolex first design was all about form following function. The second ref. changed because what buyers wanted. Power reserve means nothing to me, plus I want the old work horse 3135 .

I think that it is duplication and there are a lot of other watches that would be in my lineup before I duplicated a watch.

I would't have two similar watches in my collection unless one is a dealer or selling the watches for profit. It's not a mail stamp.

I wouldn’t own both. I own the 116660 and, much as it pains me to say it, prefer the 126660 - but not enough to go through the hassle of an upgrade

For me I see no reason why. The watches are too much alike. Honestly can not see a reason why to keep a 116660 if I could get a 126660. Maybe only if the first one has sentimental value/memories. I think it's different from someone owning a 5 and 6 digit sub or Seadweller for instance. Those are 'totally different' watches. The only differences (I can tell at least) for the new DSSD are the wider bracelet, the new 32 movement and the tiny crown at 6 on the dial.

I always want way more watches than i have, so i would get something else. Its so close to being the same and the bracelet isnt different enough to me.
