AP - Grandfather in Mexico.

Hello, TRX.

My grandfather recently showed me this watch. I honestly don’t know anything about it aside that he acquired it many years ago through a colleague who is now deceased. The friend had “alleged” ties to organized crime in Northern Mexico.

We do not intend to sell it. We are just curious if it appears to be authentic and the model type. I figured this forum would be the best to ask watch collectors.

Thank you very much.

AP runs the foundation for trees and sometimes they issue ldt edition watches based upon the foundation for trees. They typically used the AP 2225 (JLC ebauche) movement like in the 14790ST and are of the same dimensions 36mm.

I would send the watch to AP and request an extract from archives, they will open the watch and check if the movement serials + case serials correspond to a watch they made.

+1 on sending it to AP, it’ll cost you but atleast you’ll have information on it.

I think there is more than a reasonable chance it’s legit. There is a steel one with a similar design for sale on chrono24 for ~ 30k

I don't get all the strange comments, why state things if you have no clue? The watch in the pictures is genuine.

But it doesn't matter, to threadstarter: Stop wasting our time.... (https://imgur.com/gallery/jLmY8)

You don't even need to send it in. Contact ap and ask them to authenticate it via pics. If they can't then send it in
