Yes, I have an Explorer ll 16570 and a Datejust 16234 from 1989, but I use the DJ much more. I know it should be the opposite, but the Datejust is so comfortable and above is only +2 seconds a day. What do you think?

If you had to pick only one mechanical watch a very good argument could be made for the Datejust as that watch!

Yes. It was in +8 seconds. Now it's +2

I think it's hard to argue against wearing a solid watch like that Datejust as a daily! Looks great, here's to many more years of memories wearing it!

doramas, nice watch! Extremely similar to mine.

I have the Oyster Perpetual Date, 150533, purchased new in 12-87, , a daily wearer. Had it last serviced almost exactly two years back. Keeps time to +2 sec/day.

It is TT, Jubilee bracelet, black dial, fluted bezel. Just wish I could stop scraping the plastic crystal on stuff. But the watch has only been lightly polished once, so I guess I am doing OK.

I do sometimes miss the lume, however, but not that big a deal. Tritium began to fade pretty well after a decade (12.3 year half life).

Sorry for no photos. Still trying to figure out how to go about setting up a separate storage account for linking (I am not very tech savvy any more, but need to "get in there" and set something up) . . .

Yes, first serviced in 2016. I was worried at that time, however the tech said it required no new parts other than the "expected" barrel motor spring. It was running about +6 sec/day after all those years.

I felt lucky as it was serviced by one of the best Rolex techs there is, and mine was done just as he was retiring after more than 40 years of service. He would even get Rolex's (Rolli's?) sent to him from various places around the world, mostly due to word of mouth. He was meticulous beyond description.

I have done some research on Tapatalk and it seems to be very, very problematic. (Seems to crash and cause other programs to crash too.)

Do you have the free version, or the ad-free?
