Interesting posts

I feel, in general, posts are getting less and less interesting.
Naturally it’s fine to post about a new purchase, but let’s have more interesting stories around the purchase. And it would be nice to see responses with interesting stories around the same watch or situation.
I know it’s easy to ignore the ‘nice watch’ or ‘wear in good health’ single line responses, but let’s try to keep things interesting.
I hope offence is not taken by anyone.
Regards

nice ... (ok i had to)

one line is an acknowledgment i read it. Sometimes knowing people read what you take the time to write is enough feedback.

Totally agree. This isn't an internet dating site, we don't need to be chatting everyone up with long responses.....I've got a wife for all that shite!

No one is asking you for a date.

But perhaps a little more banter about the watches would be nice. And a little less whine about grey prices, can't get a discount, can't get immediate gratification, can't get a postman to acknowledge my superiority while wearing a Rolex, etc.

Exactly. If every post was a 2-3 paragraph response, it would be very cumbersome to get through as many threads on here. IMO better to give a short and sweet congrats than nothing at all.

That's an interesting idea, but an un-interesting post. Is that possible?

I think posts vary in how they interest us and how we respond. Some days it is very interesting. Other days, not so much.

I wondered a bit why people congratulate others on their incoming but it’s just right; acknowledging someones’s achievement goes a long way. This forum has 1000s of members and every incoming means something to each one so it’s nice to get a nod or thumbs up for that.

I do however wish the conversation wasn’t always about the shortage, but, sign o the times

This. In my first post I tried to give context on my first incoming. I think it helps paint the picture of the new acquisitions importance. I still do think recognizing someone’s incoming is something that serves purpose, even if it’s a short post.

As padi would tell you it is not the number of posts but the quality of them that counts. I too often give short cookie cutter responses but try to say more interesting things when possible.

and as i would say, its not about how many words you use, its about finding the appropriate GIF for the situation. If a picture says a thousand words, a moving image says exponentially more

BC is an alien and he infected us with an extraterrestrial virus. The quality of our posts is slowly degrading.
