Over polished or Not?

Hi guys, I am trying to buy my first pre-owned watch, and wanted to know and identify if this watch has been polished before. It's 14060 from the year 1990, and the seller is claiming that it is in mint condition. I am not expecting the watch to be a never-been-polished condition, but I am concerned with the chamfer at the lug sides. What do you guys think?

Thanks a lot!
David

It looks like a very good refinishing job to me (if it was done at all)!

Have to agree Bas perhaps we have a new polish syndrome on forum, if every Rolex watch looked like that after 28 years I would be jumping for joy.

I wouldn't be jumping!
I actually like refinishing beaten up Rolexes, seeing that they were put to good use and only polish during service

I totally agree. Haven't followed up for a while, but what exactly is a new polish syndrome happening in our forum?

If Bas says it's good, then it's good.

From the pics case looks great but bottom right lug hole looks nice and deep and top right lug looks to be almostthe spring bar protruding, but then again that's how it looks in the pic... Get a better pic of all the lug holes

I haven't seen the watch in person yet, but I assume that one of the spring bars is quite old.

Spring bar looks good to me, no way a spring bar can protrude like that... Ask the seller to take the lower spring bar and swap it to the top and see if it still has the same issue

That looks like a great refinishing job. Those chamfers are sweet. You should find out who did it and let us know! I'd definitely snap that up if you're looking for that model.

I noticed that too but I've been fooled by that before in pics. The overall thickness of the lug looks fine.

Look at the other pics for some reason all the top right lugs are blurry and can't see... I suggest a better pic of the lug hole before he buys

For the age of the watch it is in great condition. There are far worse examples out there.

I have a feeling the protruding the spring bar is just a bad spring bar which is what I believe baamvino was pointing out.

That looks fantastic. I wish my 14060 looked that good.

If someone asks, over polished or not, I have normally replied that the case is indeed wrecked beyond repair. This watch on the other hand looks good to me.

Case looks to be in good shape; not overpolished by any means.

Over polished or Not?

That’s an accurate description by the seller.

Whether that’s a polish job or not - it’s got some crisp clean lines on the corners and edges.

Looks original, regardless.

I’d say go for it!

The watch is NOT over polished, if you like it, pull the trigger and quit fretting over it !
