swap 3 for 1 AP

Hello everyone.

I'll get straight to the point. I might be selling my 116710BLNR, 116622 Rhodium Dial, and Hublot Classic Fusion Black Magic Alligator strap to get AP Offshore 26405CE.00.A002CA.02. I do have some feelings that I might regret that swap big time!

What do you guys think?

Do you have other watches in your collection or will the AP be your one and only?

Also you have tried it on right? That’s a big watch!

The CE44mm is an AMAZING watch but regret depends what else you have in the collection. If you are thinking of getting rid of all your rolexes I would probably try to hang on the the BLNR and still get the CE44mm.

Me too try to keep the BLNR but if you can't then still go for it, CE you can wear everyday no worries.

Try to keep the BLNR if its possible.

The Hublot just has to go... regardless...

Jeez, it really depends on your own preferences, your other watches, and your functional needs. Value-wise (MSRP), seems like a reasonable trade.

I let my BLNR go while awaiting my Jumbo, and haven't lost any sleep over it. There's a lot to like about that watch, but I was never crazy about the slab sides or the fat lugs, and the PCLs prevented it from being an easy watch to just grab and go.

I like the Rhodium Dialed Yachtmaster a lot, and would probably pick that up in the future over another Maxi-Case GMT Master, but don't need it in my rotation.

I have no opinion on the Hublot.

The AP you have your eye on is a stunner, but it doesn't serve the same functional purposes as the BLNR or the Yachtmaster.

First of all thanks for the opinions, much appreciated. Forgot to mention, my Hublot watch is Aerofusion (Skeleton) Black Ceramic 45MM.

As for my AP collection, I have a Royal Oak 41MM White dial and Offshore Safari. On the other hand, I got only those two rolexes.

The thing is, my favorite Watch brand is AP and I was thinking of adding the 44MM offshore to my collection. I still have a feeling that I might regret it, BLNR is hard to get, also I am very into my YM Platinum Bezel. Moreover, my wrist is pretty big to those rolexes

To sum everything up, shall I do this swap and later on get the Sky Dweller Blue dial and SD43 since my wrist size is big?

In that case yes. RO 41mm a ROO 42mm and a ROO 44mm has all your AP bases covered. I personally like the SD43 or DSSD along with the blue Sky Dweller much more than the YM or GMT.

Yes still do it. You are an AP guy with big wrists so the 44 is a must. If you feel you will really miss the hard to replace BLNR then keep it and trade the 42 Safari.

for a Hublot sure... wouldn't want to give up both Rolex's

Hublot Classic Fusion Black Magic Alligator strap... 14 syllables is too many. I personally have a limit of no more than 10.

That's a lot of pressure for 1 watch (if you don't have any others). I would keep the batman.

You know, this may sound crazy, but I was always a chrono collector, every single watch I owned was a chrono, with the pinnacle for me being a Daytona.

Then I got the Submariner, DD followed, and I never knew how much I enjoyed having a second hand. Just really brings a watch alive for me. And those two spend most of the time on my wrist, which still surprises me.

If you get rid of those 3 watches for the AP Chrono, remember, the watch face of a chrono is static, not much interaction with it, I'm not a fan of leaving the chrono engaged either.

As mentioned, if you can swing keeping the BLNR, then go for it....just my two cents. :-)

Second hands are overrated. ;-) Besides, OP has other watches with second hands. :-)

Don’t chronos usually include a running seconds subdial? My Speedmaster did, but I haven’t really looked closely at other chronographs.

Yea, but on the small sub-dial, not right in your face, guess I was second-hand deprived for too long....they hypnotize me now....

Did a similar trade today, to get the ROO RG44 I have wanted for years. And, I would do your trade, too. If the CE44 (an amazing watch, IMO) is the one you really want, I think you should pull the trigger and start enjoying your new watch.

Only hold onto the BLNR (or any watch) if you will miss having it on your wrist, not because it is hard to get.

...unless you will miss having it because it is hard to get.
