Rolex rubber band liner idea - Requesting Feedback

Hello fellow TRFr's,

I thought of an idea and want some honest feedback (be nice).

I like to wear my watches on the loose side. I think many of us find the steel bracelet less comfortable than rubber...hence the Oysterflex, the RubbberB and Everest straps for Rolex. My personal opinion is that rubber straps hurt the aesthetic of Rolex. Panerai, Breitling, AP, etc. can be on rubber, but for some reason I feel Rolex needs to be on a bracelet...just my opinion.

The glidelock does help a lot in the change of seasons/sweaty wrist problems of a steel bracelet sizing on the fly, but I think the real issue is the movement of the watch head in terms of comfort. If a user wears a watch more snug higher on the wrist, I think the watch wears better. But for those of us that wear it loose, sleep with the watch, etc, I think there could be a solution. Also, I find the crown a little annoying when the watch slides and hits the top of my left hand.

So, here is my idea; A snap-on high quality rubber liner. Starting with the most popular case (I presume the maxi case Sub and GMT), this liner would have a molded circle that snaps on the case back and is form fitted on the underside of the crown. The circle would have "wings" with a slight lip on the sides. The wings would sit under the watch bracelet and could be trimmed to terminate near the clasp.

You would barely see the rubber sandwiched between the skin and the watch/bracelet...just a slight edge under the crown and on sides of the bracelet. This idea would stop the watch from sliding on the arm and give a small "bumper" to the crown against the wrist.

I get your idea and from the feasability view it would be no problem but to be honest....the effect should sometimes stand behind the jewelry

My thoughts its a solution to a problem that don't exist.

I quite agree, but then again the woman who invented goggles for dogs is now a millionaire, so what do I know?

I see what you are saying, but I’ve never ever wanted something like this. The oyster bracelet is just about as comfortable and perfect as it gets. No rubber needed.

I think you should wear your watch a little more snugly. It will be more comfortable than a rubber spacer (and will have the same effect).

I got that, I tried that. Why do people love rubber bands?
