Should I trade my 116710LN
So I've had my GMT for a few weeks now. I bought it used got a smoking deal. The issue is I originally wanted a No Date Sub but when the GMT came up I had to jump on it. Now the honeymoon is over and I still want the Sub. I do travel a few times a month but it's usually in the states so GMT function isn't really needed. Also the polished end links are not my style. I came from a Tudor BB that was very understated. The GMT has gotten more attention in the last 2 weeks than my Tudor got in the couple of years i wore it.
Just looking for advice. thanks. |

Give it time.
And Tudors--well--they don't merit the same kind of attention. |

You seem to have answered your own question. So yes, I believe you should trade it for what you really want. Good luck.

I wouldn't make that trade. I'd give the GMT a little more time.

How about buying a polished sub bracelet for it? Then you get the best of both worlds. They look incredibly similar and you get the added functionality of GMT. Or you can trade for a Sub and then pick up a Tudor GMT?

My (not very profound, but true) advice is: get the watch you want.

Agreed. You should get a little cash back with that trade. I just can't do PCLs on my daily either. I do think GMTs are cool but I gravitate toward Subs, always have... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Always go for the watch you most want. But you need to ensure you prefer the Sub over the GMT. I personally prefer the Sub Date over the GMT but as you are thinking of a regular Sub I'm not sure I'd make the trade. The date complication is very useful and you've said you do occasionally use the GMT function too. Are you planning to dive with the Sub? Sounds to me like your GMT will suit you more.

As above. The watch you want is the only one that will do for you. I'd keep the GMT. However, you have a significant doubt and I think that tells you all you need t know. Pity you can't keep both.

I am a Submariner fan and would trade immediately. The GMT is cool but it seems that either you are the GMT fan or the Submariner fan. In small collections where you must make a choice I always have gone with what I am passionate about. I would not polish the bracelet on a watch that may be traded. Go get your Submariner.

Perfect advice. As you can tell the constant theme is “get what you want.” From personal experience, all the watches I bought that didn’t sing or just “scratched the itch” have been long sold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I have the same watch and I love mine. Out of the five Rolexes I've had, it's the only one I haven't flipped, and that included a SubC.
I find the GMT wears a lot better than the SubC so definitely try one on if you can. Saying that, I've been in your position before, and once that feeling creeps in, it will never go away until you get the watch you really want and satisfy that lust. That's why I've learnt my lesson now, and would rather wait or save for the watch I really want, rather than settle for alternatives. |

Patience...patience...patience...
One of the biggest mistakes with "good deals," is that we tend to justify buying simply because it is such a "good deal" that we just can't pass it up. If it is something we truly want then fine - good timing. But it’s clear you have made the jump impatiently. So now be patient is my advice. Make sure you aren't choosing to flip the GMT out of impatience or before you are really ready. I usually see this happen when it comes to buying a model that isn’t quite the one you originally sought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Spend a little time with the GMT to be sure. You don't want to find yourself in the position down the road of wanting a watch you've already flipped. Ask me how I know. |

I'd keep the GMT personally as I think it's a more useful complication . But if the sub sings to you and that's it, I say trade.

Probably should have waited to get what you wanted. Now that you have the GMT though, is it that you don't like it or you like it but still really want a Sub ND?
If the former, then of course trade. If the latter, try living with the GMT for a while and just start saving to get the Sub ND. Would be an excellent duo!

I personally think what you have is a better choice but I would give it a month or two. The Sub isn’t going anywhere and the new movement in the Sub is just around the corner. Your Tudor is not going to compete with any Rolex as most people don’t know or care about the Tudor brand. You will get use to people noticing the Rolex. I think it’s all new and you need to give it some time.

If I wanted a Black SS Sport I'd get a SUB. If I wanted a Colorful SS Sport I'd get a GMT ... Which is why I would assume that the Black GMT is Rolexes slowest selling Sport Watch

False. It's far from the slowest selling SS sports watch, it's just the easiest GMT to find because most people want the candy colored bezels.

Was recently in local Mayors Jewelers .. was asking about availability, wait lists, etc ... They told me they can get me a Black GMT or a Sub ND fairly easily if I want one ... as far as anything else .. they are not even doing wait lists.
