Some things I do to weed out the timewasters:

You can state what countries you accept bids from.

You can also state no bidders with feedback of less than ten (or however many you want)- all positive.

Also state 10% deposit through PayPal require by winning bidder within 24hrs of the auction closing.

Full payment to be received within five days of the auction closing.

No dodgy Escrow- Paypal or bank transfer only.

But be careful of PayPal. The buyer can lodge a grievance stating item not as described & they can get their money back & it takes ages for it to get sorted out. Ebay & PayPal always take the buyers side in a dispute.

Oh man tell me about it.
I sometimes think there are more idiots out there than anything else.
I've had offers of a quarter of the watches value even on a bad day and some of the ridiculous questions are beyond belief.
Good luck with your auctions

You never know. Maybe people never know what to expect on their end.

There is an ebayer in Reading, PA, selling a 1970s Air King in "Excellent" condition, 97% he says. The case and bezel are covered with scratches. The bid is up to $380. I'm local, but he will not allow inspection before the sale, but a 100% 7-day return policy.

Maybe people are jaded with eBay; as with my other passion, the Volvo 850 Turbo, the best buyer will be on an enthusiast forum.

I'd post them here on TRF rather then Ebay, you'll get a fair price and you (kind of) know the type person you're dealing with.

ignore them!!! i have the same problem too...like what they said if you put no international buyers they wont bother you...but sometimes they will lure you with good offers... let them do it...only do wire transfer for international bidders....remember your the seller you always make the call not them...

I'm selling my SS Daytona and the new GV I just bought, and possibly a few others. Its just hard to justify all these watches when the economy is so bad. I'm trying to liquidate some quick assets to buy another house. SW Florida is at rock bottom or really close to it. You can buy waterfront direct Gulf access homes "5 minutes to the Gulf" 800 thousand dollar homes 2-3 years ago for 175 to 300 now.

There are loads of Indonesian Scammers on ebay. Do not send there over ebay under any circumstances unless you know the person personally. They use stolen credit cards, fake escrow from Indonesia where they cannot be caught.
