40mm Explorer II too small for my wrist?

I need opinions on the photo. Is it too small?

You're going to get 2-5 pages of yes/no based on people's own personal preferences.

IMHO if you feel it's too small then it probably is, so try the 216570 instead and see how you feel

PS: the Exp II on your wrist is actually smaller than 40 mm - Rolex round-up the size, as they do with some other models.

I used to wear Brietlings. Now anything over 41mm is too big for my taste. I say 41mm because my DDII is 41mm. But taste is individual and I’ve found that it’s subject to change. So, buy what suits you and ......

No, it doesn’t look too small!

I hear this phrase a lot on this forum.

How about if someone is just undecided despite the watch actually looking totally fine.

They may be used to just wearing larger or smaller watches and to them, subjectively, it seems too small or large in comparison.

In this instance, OP, the watch looks perfect for your wrist.

Looks good to me, but only you know if the look is what you want.

Funny, I have always found that watches look bigger on others in person than on my wrist. I see someone wearing a 16610 and think, "wow, that looks big" and then see it's a five digit sub and it would be lost on me, but maybe it's just in my head.

I went SD43 and if I were to purchase an Explorer II, it would be 42mm for the same reason, but that's just what I know about myself.

You have to decide for you - if you don't, you will just end up selling it or having it sit around with no wrist time. Explorer IIs are just too good not to get wrist time, so make your own peace with the decision and go forth with love for that beautiful watch!

I think if you wear it a little higher up, it will look perfect.

Get the new explorer 2 polar. It’s a large 42mm as the lugs are bigger and are the hands and markers. It will be perfect and wears like a 44

Dunno, it’s not on your wrist, it’s on your hand.

Yes, It looks too small for you. If it was a 42 I'll bet it would be perfect

It depends on whether you want to follow fashion or have style. As suggested earlier, wear it higher on your wrist and it will perfect sized and stylish IMO. I think larger watches are more fashionable nowadays but that trend may change. If you go for a more fashionable larger watch, when tastes change, your choice today may have you thinking twice tomorrow.

Move it up to your actual wrist and it will look just right.

Well I decided it’s too small on my 8” wrist. I guess I’ll never be comfortable with wearing anything under a 40mm.

I couldn’t wear it any higher up my wrist without an extra extension. The owner was cool enough to let me use it for a day.

Goodbye Explorers and Exploreres IIs.

I would think the 216570 would be fine for you.

I think your wrist could handle the Explorer 42 rather easily, but the polar there looks just fine. Your preference on the size you want to wear.

Got to agree with Jim,
That looks like a potential sore wrist especially if you drive a manual/stick,,
Not too small ,move it up and it will look perfect ,,,

Alex, it seems as you have more of a flat wrist than a round wrist. A bigger size watch may be a better match for you. As someone suggested, try the new Exp II or look at Panerai 44mm or bigger.

I think that it looks too small. It might help to have it properly sized and to try it on your wrist bit it will still be too small for my tastes. Look at the 42 MM Polar Explorer II. It will work much better size wise in my opinion.
