To rehulk or not?

Had the hulk a few years back, but sold to justify buying jc1 when it was first released. I also thought it was a bit too much green and not quite as large as my current tastes...skyd, ymii, jc1, etc...

With all that said, my local small ad has received its second hulk within a month. It's very tempting, especially considering rolex shortage situation. I would have to pay taxes 7% as they won't ship. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks and have a great weekend.

Choice 1 - buy, enjoy, sell for more than you paid for it
Choice 2 - pass and buy something else

Only buy the 116610LV if you really want to own and wear it.

Pass. Nothing in your post says you're excited about the watch, only that it's available.

Buy only what you truly like. Let someone else enjoy this one.

This. Seems you're being distracted and effected by hype. You didn't like once and you don't seem excited now. It's just there and you're there at the same time, nothing more.

When I want something, I don't need opinions or advice, I go running and even skip work or lunch if need be just to make it on time. Nothing will satisfy my need like having it in my hand.

Well said, I'm on the phone or email or text negotiating, making the deal, or running to the AD, allocating funds, etc.

Go in and see the watch and see if it's the watch or the scarcity that attracts you most.

The same thing happened to me. I bought a spare owned one a few years ago and sold it. Didn’t quite sing enough to me at the time I guess. Last 12 months or so I’ve wanted one. AD had one and I bought it. Love it more than the first time and very glad I’ve got it. Get it, you can’t lose either way.

P.S. it does seem there’s been a big delivery of them this month as I know of 3 people that got them from AD’s and all said that their AD’s had not seen one in ages.

I say pass. If you've sold it once before it means you don't want to keep it permanently.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Hulk. Well not hate lol. It's a great piece. But I am always gravitating more to my YM 16622 or BLNR. I think it's because I just love polished center links. But then after some days of not wearing the LV, I then love it again all of a sudden.

Buy it if you know you will enjoy wearing it.

A bit too green and not as large as your 'current' taste. You said it not me. But hey, if you want to give it another shot you better move quick.

I passed. Thanks for the responses. They got in the hulk, jc2, and sd50. They still have the sd50. Most likely the last batch before Christmas. Maybe a sign that rolex is releasing more watches as my ad is rather small and usually doesn't get as much.

Good move. Someone else will enjoy it I'm sure.

Most ADs receive one or two last shipments late Nov / early Dec before Rolex shuts down for a few weeks and gives their employees a proper holiday.

Your feeling of it being too much green is not going to go anywhere. I did the same thing.

Dont get caught up in the hype. Honestly its not a watch that everyone can wear or will like. This is why its demand will drop sooner or later.

Its not the same level as a SS Daytona or a SS BLRO.

This watch was a dog. They were always in the cases with few takers. Some people on this Forum started going nuts over them and the rest is history. The power of the internet to be sure. I do believe color dials are now very trendy where historically they were not and Rolex folks, traditional as they were, were not too keen over a green dial Submariner. I do not see demand dropping anytime soon.

+1 - yes it was a dog, and they were sitting in cases, at best in the "wall case" while black subs were flying. All of a sudden everyone wants one - the hype is real.

Bingo - its all hype. The Hulk was once the most criticized Sub out there.

The reason why ppl shouldnt fall for the hype is simple - make sure you absolutely love it before buying it.

Doesnt matter how you look at something, once an ugly duckling always an ugly duckling - nothing has changed since its release except pure hype.

Agreed , and I own one and it was only after careful deliberation and thought.
