Traveling to Tokyo next week... Anyone have any suggestions/tips
Good evening guys,
I’ll be traveling to Tokyo next week for the first time. No business just for fun. I’ll be in town for 3 full days. Does anyone have any suggestions as far as what to see, do, or eat while I’m there? I’ve had this trip on the books for 2 months but I’ve been extremely lazy when it comes to the planning! Thanks guys! |

I've created a custom Google Map for Tokyo with tons of restaurants, shops and museums. I can DM you the link.

Beef rice bowl at Yoshinoya (a hole-in-the-wall type food chain). It’s everywhere so you won’t miss it.
Also recommend a quick trip to any First Kitchen and try their flavored french fries. Also, don’t miss Akihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and of course Roppongi. Yokohama is also worth a quick visit. |

Hit Takayashima Time Square and Ginza area, for strolling around, shopping. Go see the Samurai museum and Asakusa and the Senso-hi Temple...memorable! Tokyo observations deck (or see lounge below)
Steakhouse Akihabara in Chiyoda - amazing wagu - high end Omotesando Ukaitei in Shibuya - even better wagu and high end!! Itamae Sushi in Minato or Ginza Corridor if you love Sushi and especially Blue Fin tuna!!! Sky LoungeGardens in Minato - worth it to see Tokyo from above at night!! If you miss home, there’s a Hard Rock Cafe as well! Enjoy!!! One of my favorite cities and countries, I used to be a regular. |

Do you like Seiko watches? If yes a trip to the Seiko boutique at Wako, Ginza is a must. And so is a visit to Seiko Premier boutique few blocks away.
As for food, Tokyo food standard is so high in general that you can just about walk in to any restaurant and 99% of the time, you will end up with delicious food, especially Japanese. My personal favourite is Teppanyaki. As for accommodation, there's a wide variety of choices depending on budget. Even 3-star hotels have impeccable cleanliness. Visit a travel forum like Tripadvisor and you will find tons of suggestions. Tokyo is an amazing city and my 2nd all time favourite city in the world. Enjoy Tokyo!

Get Kobe beef there’s a vendor by Shibuya Crossing. Ask around it’s the best.

Take a side trip to see the Great Buddha of Kamakura. If I recall correctly, it is only an hour or so by train(s).

Are you a car guy? If so check out fun2drive. I’m a huge car guy and did a day tour. Drove along the mountainside just outside of Tokyo on some great driving roads and had awesome views out Mt Fuji. It is an all day activity but you get back into Tokyo in time for dinner. We explored Shibuya afterwards which is the nightlife district of Tokyo so I felt like I didn’t miss anything at all.
By the way I’ve traveled globally quite a bit and Tokyo is the first place I go back to if I wanted a repeat city. I wish you had more time in Japan because Kyoto is an amazing city of tradition. A time capsule if you wil. |
