GMT-Master II 126711CHNR after 2 weeks

I was lucky enough to be given the chance to purchase the GMT-Master II 126711CHNR around 2 weeks ago and didn’t hesitate as it was offered to me at MSRP I personally preferred the CHNR over the BLRO, especially after trying both watches out at the Baselworld 2018 launch event by the same AD sometime in May 2018.

Stickers were promptly removed on the spot & no protective bezel as well as no coffin box were given this time. Seems like Rolex has enforced this policy in Asia too. 7 months ago, I can still retain those small stuffs when I bought the Submariner No-Date 114060 at another AD.

I wore the watch quite actively over the past one week and even brought the watch to Bali for a family wedding last week. Needless to say, I am very impressed by this beauty! The combination of black and chocolate bezel colors is totally mesmerizing and I couldn’t help myself just admiring the bezel.

The Rolesor bracelet also exudes class and an elegant presence. As a result, this two-tone watch provides me with a totally different feel from the usual steel watches that I own It has also invited a few attention from onlookers or sales agent at other ADs. No-regret whatsover from me!

Another plus point to me is the 70-hrs power reserve provided by the new Rolex Caliber 3235. So, I can put the watch aside for 2 full days without winding it!

Overall, I will recommend this watch and it is probably going to be my only two-tone watch for the foreseable future. Next time round, it will be full-gold

Here’s a few pics that I can share

Beautiful shots. I’ve never been a two tone fan but this is one I think I’d really enjoy. My AD offered me one and I passed, but my wife told me it was nicer looking than any watch I own. So maybe I’ll have to pick one up in the future.

Thank you! Indeed, I fell in love with the watch the moment I tried it on in May this year. Thankfully, I don’t have to wait a long time for this.

Rose and steel is such a good combo. Can't say the same about yellow and steel. Congrats on the watch!

Who says its difficult to find matching shirts for the Rootbeer? Not for me as I have many Batiks. And the combination is a match as shown in the pics below

Nice watch. Congrats!!!
What is your wrist size? Maybe it's from picture perspective but the watch looks huge on your wrist.

This statement is comical though.

It's so insane to me that we (as consumers) feel privileged to be given the chance to hand over 8-10-15K for a stainless steel watch

Yep, thought the same thing. A sign of the times. Anybody knows how much of a wait the CHNR requires? It has to be less than 6 months...

I have been following the CHNR as close as you can since Baselworld. It’s a sleeper hit since Rolex pushed the BLRO a lot at Baselworld. The CHNR is gaining its own real world momentum.

Availability depends where you look. It’s grey market price like David is around $17K+ for new and $16K for preowned but preowned is extremely rare. Some AD”s stopped taking names for it and others will luck into one by chance through the door. With the CHNR gaining movement quickly, it’s prices have risen in the last month even more on the open market. Our trusted sellers have not had nearly as many CHNR as the BLRO since their Baselworld release this year so there just isn’t many out there.

It’s a grail watch of mine since I first saw it at Baselworld 2018. Absolutely Rolex perfection in every detail. I am over a month with mine and it is still 0.0 seconds perfect time keeping and counting. It’s Power Reserve test came out above spec at 71 hours 41 minutes so Rolex really upped their game with the new 3285 movement.

Hopefully the OP got his new owners card, if not...

Awesome post. A TRF member posted the following picture a while back and I had to save it on my phone. . I’m not a fan of two tone bracelet, but I’d pay full price for the CHNR even if it came with a steel (brushed) bracelet only.

You know that SS brushed bracelet actually works really well to tone down the watch! I like it! Would like to get one for my CHNR!

The bezel color combination really works well with Everose which I love about this watch.

The bezel and bracelet compliment each other perfectly with a dial that pops for a very classy package!
And the 70 hour power reserve with the new movement helps!
Is the case contour/design of this new GMT model different from say the BLNR model?

Yup, it exudes a different class from the normal SS watches (even the Patek's 5711 that I also own). If you are to own any TT watch, this is the one to acquire (until Rolex comes up with even more beautiful design in the future).

Thank you :) Yeah, times have changed...we consumers now have to "beg" for the "rare" watches.
