Help with Lady Datejust sizes please
Hi everybody, looking to get my wife a Datejust, probably a used one as can't really stretch to a new one at an AD.
She currently has a Tudor Princess Oysterdate, which is really tiny, so I was thinking either 26 or 28mm, with 31mm as a remote possibility. My issue is, I can't find any info on lug to lug sizes anywhere, not even on the spec sheets on Rolex own site. So... anybody with access to a 26/28/31 DJ, please can you measure the lug tip to lug tip please. My wife has fairly small wrists, and they aren't flat old worktops like mine, so anything much over 38-40mm lug to lug is going to be too big. Thanks |

Hi, I don't have the lug size, however I have one tip for you as my wife also has small wrists. The biggest issue with the Rolex bracelets is the blade of the deployant clasp. Because her wrist is so thin, when the bracelet has all the links taken out, the blade from the clasp sticks out and from the inside it pushes the bracelet away from the wrist. She had this issue with the 28mm and 31mm DJs.
Out of curiousity, why do you need the lug size? Last edited by mojomomo; 6 December 2018 at 08:43 PM.. Reason: Typo |

Hi thanks for reply. I don't need the lug size as in the end piece / strap width, its the lug to lug 'height' for want of a better term. My wife has quite round wrists in profile, so if lug to lug is too long, there's a gap between the underside of the lug end and her wrist, which isn't a great look, quite apart from being rather impractical.
I have 'flatter' wrists, so can get away with longer lug to lug measurements, even though I don't have particularly big wrists for a bloke (7"). |

Why not visit an AD and have your wife try some on?

Because its a surprise. I know... probably best to involve her in the decision, but she's already given me some clues as to preferences such as must be S/Steel, must be Oyster bracelet, NOT Roman numeral dial, not chintzy etc. So, I think I'll press ahead with the surprise element.

My wife's 28mm Datejust is 33mm lug to lug and her 26mm is 32mm.

My wife is average and wears a 26, 28 and 36 DJ.
All look great and provide alternating looks for her depending on mood and attire.
