Watch Facts

I just bought a new Sub on Amazon and it came with a certificate from Watch Facts. Seems like a great service. They will even do a re-inspection to make sure I received the watch that the certificate was made for at no charge. Anyone here used them before? They also offer inspections and servicing of watches.

They told me a basic Rolex service was $350.00 and their 31 point inspection was $50.00

I'm not familiar with them, they seem way over priced, and unless the warranty is from Rolex, I can't see it being worth the paper it's printed on. You are better off checking the trusted sellers here in the classified section.

Amazon is probably the safest place to buy other than an AD. They will let you return anything. That said, I’ll stick with AD.

Thanks for the responses. My watch was used and Amazon uses Watch Facts for their certified used watches. This was NOT an advertisement for them! I don't know anything about them which is why I asked. I am a new member, so give me a break while I'm trying to get more familiar with this forum and Rolex in general.

I believe that there was another thread started by a new member that falsely praised watchfacts as well.

Notice to anyone reading this thread - Watchfacts is a completely useless service that provides NO real guarantee of authenticity or origin. The ONLY piece of paper that should be paid for that proves authenticity is a Rolex Warranty or Rolex RSC authenticity check. Please do not fall for scams

Yes, pictures would be wonderful. I’d love to see the watch next to “the watch facts” certificate. I’ve also always wondered how an order confirmation for a rolex from amazon looked like.

I've loved Rolex watches since I was a kid. I bought a used Datejust about 20 years ago and I just bought a Submariner (my favorite looking Rolex ever) last week. I probably overreacted, but I wasn't expecting to be accused of anything, or attacked just because I asked a question.

This report was included with my watch purchase on Amazon. Like I said, it's not an endorsement it's a question about a service. My watch included the original paperwork from Rolex and the serial number was also printed on the Watch Facts report.

I assume you are being sincere so I included pictures. I received an invoice from Amazon just like you would with any purchase...

Generally, certificates provided by sales outlets are meaningless.

There is no "authority" that certifies or authorizes the provider of said certificate.

I absolutely agree. This one seemed more legitimate because they don't sell watches. They only certify them. They also have a 1 year warranty that guarantees your watch to be authentic. Next stop, my local Rolex dealer :)

Thanks for the helpful response WatchGuy1966. By the way, I had to look up what "Ibtl" meant. Here is the definition:

" IBTL " or "in before the lock" is an expression used by serious users of conversation forums, and they are celebrating that they posted a comment before the thread was removed or locked by an administrator. You will see this expression in very heated, very controversial, and very inflammatory online discussions."

I have no idea why you think an administrator would remove my post, or why you think this is a "...very heated, very controversial, and very inflammatory online discussion,"

The implication was you were spamming the board as a shill for Watch Facts. Those threads usually get removed, not just locked. Since you've made it clear you aren't, I don't see any reason for this thread to be locked, unless some people get hostile, which from the looks of it won't be your fault.

Regarding the one-year guarantee of authenticity, technically you can come back at a seller any time you discover they sold you a fake watch, not just in the time they specify. The reason is rooted in basic contract/sales law: the one-year guarantee is a term of the sales agreement, but if they sold you a fake watch, they've breached the agreement and it becomes void; as such, they can't enforce its terms. That said, the sooner you discover a problem, and the sooner you deal with it, the better your chances of recovery, guarantee or no.

Beyond that, I don't have much input, since I've never heard of Watch Facts. I'm generally in agreement that certification services aren't worth much. If you're worried about authenticity, the money would be better spent sending it to Rolex for a check.

Welcome to the forum. Don't let the more crotchety locals put you off too much.

I would definitely take it to your local RSC to have it checked out. Watch Facts sounds like a bogus company

Congrats on the 13LB! It is a beautiful watch! Just wear it & enjoy it! But, no more buying watches from Amazon!

Don’t worry about the certificate, it is fluff. Peace.

It’s insane to me that people are worried about amazon. Always good practice to have your watch checked out but on the outside it looks kosher. I held a tritium bluesy today and was really impressed. The hands/markers and pearl on yours look to be developing patina beautifully. Congrats and enjoy!

Welcome to the forum and Congrats! It does look like a beauty and an iconic Sub choice, love that blue. Everyone here as on all forums give there opinions, thoughts and advice. I feel like it's a brotherhood here and for the most part everyone also looks out for one another. Again, Welcome and Enjoy. I do..

Congrats on the purchase. Yeah, I agree regarding Amazon, it is a great place to buy things and most anything can be returned. Some people totally throw things out of proportion on some forums. Enjoy the watch.

Well, seems to me this Watch Fact Thing is completely scam...
I am including URL to 3 Amazon listings of watches certified as original by Watch Facts, and well... check it out:

go to amazon and paste the following ASIN numbers on their search bar:
B07RM5GKD5
B07SXBNKXK
B07NPYDJTK
