Watch clasp position

So picked up new watch yesterday and it sits well on top of the wrist for the most part. But NY RSC put 5 links on 12 o’clock and 3 links on 6 o’clock side. They said this is how they usually do it. But clasp is sitting far over to one side of the wrist now and not centered. Would evening out the links on each side fix this issue?

That clasp positioning would drive me crazy, I'd go 4 and 4 which should fix that.

Look on the underside of the clasp and see where the flat metal piece is positioned. If that is centered then you are good to go.

I have six on the top and five on the bottom of my Daytona.

I prefer it longer on the 12 side, but that clasp looks too far to the side, it would probably feel better with 4 and 4.

Works for me too but everyone's different. Then there's the folk who need the clasp turning around..

I always like less links at 6 than at 12, but 5/3 may be a little too much in your case. I would try 4/4 and see if you works for you.

On Daytona and similarly sized watches I have 7 on the 12 side, and 5 on the 6. Then the clasp is where I want it.

My BLNR is 7 on one side and 4 on the front side. The clasp blades are centrered, which is more important than the actual top side of the clasp. I have very very flat wrists so it works well for me

It does look like it's canted to the short side. I would try evening out the links and see how it feels. Yes, normally we put more links on the 12 o'clock side, but hey, everyone's wrist is a different size/shape.

Won't cost you anything but about 5 minutes to swap a link out and see...

Yes I think that’s what I’ll try .. or adding a link onto 6 side and pushing the Easylink in. So I can extend it during summer

Update on sizing (6.25 inch wrist) .. added one link to 6’oclock side so now it’s 5-12’oclock and 4-6’oclock. Also, pulled the Easylink bracelet to the smallest notch and folded it in. It now slides slightly on arm but dial sits well and does not roll on wrist at all. Centered outside clasp as much as possible, but can’t go anymore without inside clasp being pushed too far over.

Looks like you could tighten it just a bit. When you warm up you still have easylink.

In the 4th picture it looks like it could use a little tightening, but the only option would be to remove a link and make it 4 on each side. Then pull out the notches to largest setting underneath bracelet.

That looks good! And as someone as mentioned, as long as the inside part of the clasp that hugs the wrist is centered you’re good to go

If the flat metal piece beside the clasp is centered then i think it's literally in a good shape so you have nothing to worry about.

I have 6.5 inch wrist and have even links on each side 5/5 with easy link closed.
Additionally, you can adjust bracelet inside clasp by moving bracelet-end pin in and out.

That’s what dealer did.. pulled bracelet in to smallest notch and put 5-4 links. It moves slightly up and down wrist but not side to side. Now looking on it I know what other post meant about it being a little loose.

The clasp position is determined by the number of links on the 6 o'clock side. You then use the 12 o'clock side and the micro adjustment in the clasp to set the bracelet to the size you want it.

It does look a little loose. 4 on the 6 o'clock side looks great, but I recon if you went back to 4 on the 12 o'clock side and set the micro adjustment to its most loose setting, you'd be good to go. A link is 10mm and you have 6mm adjustment with the micro adjusters (if I recall correctly) so the net effect of that would be to tighten your bracelet by 4mm from where it is now.

If that's still a bit tight, the other option would be to source a half link from a sub and have the centre polished (easily done) and have 4.5 links on the 12 o'clock side.

Yes that’s what I’m thinking I’ll do and should get rid of some of that sliding around .. hopefully not too tight.

But the watch is over the wrist bone.

The last pix makes no sense in the context of sizing a watch.

Meaning if I went 4 and 4 it would take some of the looseness off the bracelet on that side

Other then the bracelet adjustment I thought the Daytona fit me pretty well. I also wear a SubC which I find comfortable.
