Sky-Dweller SS black dial question

Hi, my AD just contacted me and I have an opportunity to buy a black SD in black dial today and I was just wondering if the dial is painted black or brushed black (slightly metallic looking)? Never seen that color in person on a SS SD. Thanks!

From some limited pics on the web it seems like it's brushed and not painted like a Sub, but can’t believe no one knows on TRF :) I guess it’s pretty rare to see it in person unless you own one.

Thank you, I just did. It was my third choice after Blue and White, but too good to pass up at MSRP w/ no tax.

its a great watch congrats, but we have got to stop buying our 3rd choice because its there. Its not like fruit loops were sold out and you got lucky charms instead. but i guess we are all a bit nuts around here

I know what you mean and I struggled with it. I’ll just have to get the other 2 SkyD’s when it becomes available, haha.
I purchased LV earlier this yr from the same AD sight unseen and it became my fav so hoping I won’t regret it with this one especially since it’s a brushed black dial and not painted. Too bad no inventory to see it in person. Sad state.

I had the chance to hold both and try them on as well back at a Basel release party in 2017. Thought for sure I'd prefer the blue, but I could not seem to take my eyes off the black. The dial is a nice sunburst, but somewhat subdued (at least to my eyes in the AD lighting). It was drop dead gorgeous!

I'm not currently waiting for one, but if and when I decide to track one down, I think I'd prefer the black.

Sunburst black, not glossy. Looks beautiful in bright light. Killer watch.

Congrats on pulling the trigger on the Sky-Dweller. The Black Sunburst Dial is outstanding. You’ll love it.

Beautiful peice but in my experience if you settle for second/third best you will always experience buyers regret! I am after a blue dial dweller and had the chance to buy a black dial a couple of weeks ago but I resisted! Seeing your pics make me think maybe I should of bought it though lol! Congratulations on a beautiful watch!

Yeah, I couldn’t count on the next time it would become available in these market conditions.

Somewhat charcoal texture to it. Not as shiny as other sunburst dials Rolez has. I parted mine awhile ago. Bit thicker than anticipated as well. Like the GMT more than the SkyD. More practical to be honest.

Yeah, it’s hard to make a brushed black dial have the same shine as a LVc, haha. It definitely wears bigger than my BLNR and LVc, but actually very comfortable on my wrist.
