History Of The Seiko Grand.
IMO these watches are built, and as accurate as the best out there. The only thing they lack is the image,a bit like Lexus ver Mercedes. But I have been looking for a early 60s model at the right price to add to my collection. The 430 Grand Seiko,is the one I am looking for, beautiful movement and very accurate 1-3secs a day easily acheavable. And in the early 60s there were only two companies, who could sell watches, passed astronomical observatory authorization Chronometer in those days. ---Seiko and Giraud Peregaux.

Very classic looking. I especially like the day/date versions (but perhaps that's just my affinity for complications :-) ). They don't seem to be terribly expensive in the "previously worn" market.

Well JJ in the 60s Seiko entered a competition, with watches from all over the world.Including most of the Swiss high end brands. For a much higher standard than the COSC,the Astronomical Observatory Authorisation Chronometer Standard.Out of many watches summited only two passed this
test Seiko Grand just a production model, and Giraud Peregaux a specially build for the test model.
