The hottest grail Rolex would be this .........

The Blue TT Sub where the YG bits are replaced with WG .

That magnificent blue sunburst dial and blue bezel on an all SS/WG Sub

Hope our name is on the waiting list..

Yes, that would be quite the ultimate TT Bluesy!!

My name would definitely be on the list if my budget would allow it.

I agree that would be a pretty cool watch. However, some on here are very opposed to PCLs. (I am not one of them, I love them!)

Blue sunburst will go well with polished center links in white gold

Not sure if ss and WG combo would be called two tone!

Sure not, but how else would you describe it ...The SS/WG Blue Sub ? The tone between Rolex 904L and own manufactured WG is not exactly the same .

Rolesor (all encompassing nomenclature for mixed metals)

I've always wanted to have a white gold Submariner and get the blue bezel and dial swapped out for the black bezel and dial from a stainless Submariner. I'd also want to brush the PCL. That would be a Submariner grail watch for me!

A new 5517 (MilSub) or 8171 (Padellone). Neither will happen. Sadly.

We all know the blue TT Sub...easy to imagine .Just the bezel and polished centrelinks in WG .All white metal Blue Sub !

All ss Blue Sub ? No ...on ss the centrelinks must be brushed to stay true to heritage. If you have the blue sunburst dial it must have the polished center links for the design to pop.

do you think the ss and wg will work well together? There is a slight color difference, maybe it won’t look that great? Then again must datejusts have a white gold fluted bezel on ss case and it looks good sooooo.....already talking myself out of it, haha.

Correct that slight difference in colour tone between the ss and wg will be interesting. The WG centre links will be polished which will gel well with the natural sparkle of 904L

Make no mistake,a huge reason for ss sports models success is 904L sparkle, even in brushed form .

I don't know about it. WG and steel are similar but not same in color, I don't know if that color contrast would look good. IMO it'd be better if they make it full SS (with PCL though). But I don't think that'll happen because it is too similar to Smurf. On the other hand who knows, BLRO in SS makes no sense when you have BLRO in WG, but they released it anyway.

I would love to see one! On a similar note, I wonder what the TT Blue Sub would be like if they replaced the SS with WG. Full TT PM!

My honest opinion is it would be a complete bomb. WG models are already slow sellers. Making a "two tone" watch out of two similarly-colored metals is a guaranteed flop. Sure, we're seeing positive feedback in this thread, but this is the same place that consistently votes the no-date model as the preferred Sub, despite the fact it's a slow seller and that seven out of the eight Submariner models have dates. In other words, we're a fringe group of enthusiasts. In the real world, where sales matter, an SS/WG model would have no legs. That might make it a collector's option in years to come, but Rolex has enough foresight not to do it in the first place.
