Brushed Centre Links Milgauss?
Has anyone done this? If so do you have pics? Thinking about possibly brushing the centre links of my new milgauss. Is this something thats easily done? And easily fixed if I decide to go back to PCL?
Thanks for the help. Photos of your milgauss would be awesome Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Airking is the same watch case and strap without the polished center links..
If you compare a picture of one of those you can't go wrong... You will of course loose metal on the bracelet as you will be scratching it severely and if you go back highly polishing it again |

Use a green scotchbrite pad to brush links. It doesnt scratch deeply enough that a measurable amount of metal would be removed to repolish it. |

So you can scrub a Rolex pcl bracelet with a Scotchbrite pad to a Rolex brushed finish and then bring it back to its original polished finish with no noticeable loss if material.
Do you have some pix of this?

Honestly, I don't think that will look right with the polished case. Milgauss needs PCL's IMO, but to each their own.

As a fellow Milgauss White Dial owner I’m more intrigued by the fact why you would want to alter such a beautiful watch. For me the PCL’s are a part of the characteristics and I feel like they also fit really well with the smooth bezel. What is it about the PCL’s that put you off? Sure, it’s a bit more scratchy, but is it that big of a difference versus BCL’s? And looking at you wrist, I can hardly imagine that it’s too flashy for you. All in all, I really wouldn’t alter the bracelet, you might regret it later and I’m not sure it as easily reset again.

With polished lugs, a brushed bracelet doesn’t look right to me.

I think I've seen pictures of someone doing this, but the lugs and case sides were brushed too, if I remember correctly. Which, IMO, you're getting further away from the charm of the milguass. Maybe the member who did this mod will chime in....or check the "Show me your watch mods" thread. |

Actually I'm glad you posted this because I've often thought that my Air King would look better with the polished center links instead of the brushed ones.
What I'm doing right now is actually saving up for a Milgauss bracelet and I plan on trying to purchasing one from my AD. That could be an option for you too (in the inverse, buying an AK bracelet) and then you've got the option to dress up or down your watch's bracelet. OR you could purchase a low-cost brushed Oyster bracelet and try it out to see if you like the look - I have a brushed oyster from Hadley Roma that I sometimes put on my Alpinist and it's a decent looking bracelet. Not in the same category of Rolex of course, but it could definitely give you an idea of whether or not you like the look. If it were me, personally I wouldn't alter the factory bracelet - it would just be a pain to restore it if you didn't like the outcome. |

I have a Zblue and had an AK. I love both for their different attributes. If you do that you'll have an odd duck with its still fully polished case. Have you thought of switching out to a Rubber b or Everest strap for a change. I'm not a big fan of that but l saw a members black Milgauss on a black Rubber b and it looked pretty good, for a change that is. If you were talking about a Gmtll, I'd say maybe but I would never de-throne a Millie.

which looks brilliant IMO! But again, the 116710 has brushed lugs. A watch with polished lugs and brushed bracelet looks off. I tried it with my 116500 and it was all wrong.

I can see your point, but theres a simple solution.....polish the lugs as well. I remember seeing this done to a Daytona, and IMHO it looked great.

I saw that daytona and loved it and agree, that's the way to go if you want the brushed look. Although, I've never seen a modern milgauss like this so I really can't say whether or not I'd like it.

There may be some small areas between the links that are not polished, but you cant see them. My watchmaker did a lovely job.

No. The watch was about a year old when I had it done.

Why on Earth would you buy a brand new Rolex that you didn’t like everything about 100%? This makes no sense to me. Of all the references out there, there wasn’t a single one that would make you completely happy without having to mod it right out of the box??
By the way, the PCLs are part and parcel of the Milgauss’ DNA. They go with the polished lugs/case. That sounds like an awful idea to me, my first point notwithstanding. |
