Discount on PM Daytona with Oysterflex

HI There,

I am thinking to get the white gold Daytona with Oysterflex.

What is the typical discount these days? I am in the US.

Thank you!

Zero probably

Been waiting almost a year for mine. waited 0 days for a 5711 and a BLRO and a month for a 5990 so that's how nuts it is in London and its the same AD. An AD in Houston told me a story about two customers getting into a fight in the store over one the last time they had one... not a fist fight or anything, but still. People are losing their minds

I think I got something inconsequential like $800 off on mine. This one is worth it at retail, especially with the ridiculous SS prices.

I've asked and ZERO is the response. Apparently it takes months if not over a year when it comes in from special order.

I have a really strong relationship with my AD so I've been offered discounts on them, however this is the only reason. Without a relationship and the demand of the watch I wouldn't expect a discount. Maybe in a few years when demand dies down. It's proved a very popular reference for Rolex.

Haha. 30-40% on ~$30k = slim margins :)

Are you referring to what the AD pays for the watch?

That's also what they pay for their steel models, but it's not what they're going to sell it to us for.

The margin we're concerned with is how much of that percentage that the AD is willing to give up when they give us a discount...with popular models, like the one the OP asked about, is it's not much.

Then you used a wrong word. You should’ve said discount.

It is possible depending on your relationship with your AD.

I have a great relationship w my AD, long record of purchases, and the answer around here is zero. The supply is lower than the SS Daytonas and its just as hot.

They can be found in the windows at ADs and Rolex boutiques in Belgium, 5-10% should be doable depending on your negotiation skills.

Agree, with no prior relationship with AD, no chance. Everyone wants the best deal but at present time, it's a sellers market, especially for high demand models. They can easily sell it at MSRP, why would they discount it?

Hope Rolex doesn't read this and get the AD into trouble...But it's good to know.

I think it really depends on the market. In the big city (Toronto in my case), it has a decently long waitlist at the ADs. In a smaller town, I was able to obtain one right away, though they had it stashed away in the safe. Shortly after I purchased mine, they received another one, which they put out in the display case.

There are several Daytona’s in PM with Oysterflex. I would be surprised if the WG 116519LN was sitting in your AD for weeks.

I was in a local AD on NYE and they had a rose gold Daytona on oysterflex that I got a offer of 20% off. The salesperson said they wanted to get rid of inventory before the new year to avoid taxes. Also offered the same for a rose gold president my wife was eying. Didnt pick up either now wish I did. They had a sea dweller that was no discount however.

There is no such thing as a typical discount. Too many variables.

Are you a high-volume buyer at this AD? If yes - perhaps a big discount for you.
If no...and the AD does not think you are a serious buyer, with repeat potential, your discount is zero.

If the model has been sitting in the case - and the AD needs a sale - maybe you get a discount. Make an offer for an amount you'd be willing to start at...and go from there.

Hi, I’m from Singapore. I bought a WG Daytona with oysterflex 6 months ago and was offered 7% discount. Last month, I bought a rootbeer from the same AD and was offered zero discount.
