BLNR Batman trade for 116520: would youbdo?

I was offered to trade in my 116710blnr year 2016 full set for a 116520 white dial, Y serial, ca 2003, no papers. I would need to pay extra 700 USD. Both are in excellent condition.
Is it a fair deal and would you do it?

Sounds like a good deal provided the Daytona is in reasonably good condition.

If you dig the Daytona and its verified by watchmaker in good condition. Personally I would keep the blnr.

In this case I prefer the BLNR plus it's much more useful to me.

Thanks. Probably still a good deal, though a few years back perhaps there was a wider gap in the market prices of these 2 models. But now price for BLNR is rising.

Just bear in mind that the 116520 is the least desired Daytona.

Haven’t seen one in person - why is this the case?

in reality its not really fair to say its the least desired version without giving context. the zenith version before it sells for $30k+, the ones before that well probably minimum $60k+. The current ceramic goes for over $20k, so yes the 116520 that is currently selling for roughly $16k/$17k seems like the least "desired", which is not really a fair way to describe it. Maybe its just the cheapest you can get right now. I'd say coming across any daytona is a win.

Well, it is less "iconic" than the Zenith-Daytona and less sporty than the 116500.
Personally I dislike it because I find it too "shiny" (both the bezel and the sub-dials).
On the other hand, the GMT BLNR is one of my favorite current production models, so that makes me biased against doing that deal.

I definitely prefer my 116520 over my 16520 and 116500, if I had to make a choice.

I’d do it in a heartbeat!

I have 116520, BLNR and 116500, and 116520 is easily my favourite among the three, BLNR the least. Ironically, the 116500 feels a little “cheap” next to the 116520.

My thoughts exactly! The 116500 is an all out sports watch while the 116520 is more elegant. I also find the contrast between the black bezel and white dial a bit too much.

I would. If you can trim the cash part that would be nice. But I’m biased as one who prefers the Daytona to GMT.

If you don’t love the the BLNR and the Daytona is in great shape...I’d do it. It’s your call though, not anyone else’s.

I prefer the BLNR to the Daytona. If the Daytona was complete I might be more tempted.

The Daytona is a beautiful watch no doubt and as we all know extremely sought after, but it’s just not my cup of tea and would much rather keep the blnr. If the Daytona’s your thing though it’s not a bad deal at all!

I like the Daytona, only hesitate somewhat as it is without papers while the blnr is fullset.

Agree.

It's going to need a service too. Factor in 700 plus for a Daytona service.

I also don't like how old the Y is. That is about a 15 year or more old watch. I think it has the skinny hands that are harder to read as well.

I wouldn't trade.

Yes it has thinner hands. But this one also has an off-white dial, if someone like that.
