The people that are trying to force these puerile nicknames remind me of an obnoxious neighbor that I had a few years ago. He would hear a joke on SNL or some radio show and for the next week or two he would wear you down with joke fatigue, always saying after the silence, "get it? or wasn't that really funny??". I wish I was able to see inside his head, where he was probably telling himself a) look how clever I am b) I can tell the joke too! c) Why aren't they laughing? Must modify the joke a bit or keep repeating the joke until they find it funny.

I think the idea that a Jubilee is feminine ludicrous.

I wouldn’t call it feminine, but it still doesn’t belong on a “professional “ watch.

"Doesn't belong"?....Why not? If you can explain, you'd be the first of those who have made this or similar statements about Jubilees (or PCLs) on GMT Masters. You do realize that the GMT Master was derived from the DJ?

You may or may not like Jubilee bracelets but idea there's an inherent mis-match between it and the model isn't supportable past a set of vague "sports watch" or "Tool watch" criteria with regards to aesthetics based on personal preference. Most of the time those who decry anything but a brushed oyster bracelet on a "sports watch" or "tool watch" are lifelong desk jockeys attempting to signal some sort of Action Man aura through their watch, sold on the James Bond-esque fantasy. Anything that doesn't appear to fall in line with that image is thought to be "wrong".

If you can come up with something that's more than just a personal preference based on vague notions locked into a narrow set of aesthetic criteria, thanks for providing it.

i agree. Its not a feminine watch at all. It's fancier.

Diamond dial mens watches are far, far more feminine if you want to go there.

But when Batman wore blue, he wore it with grey. And when Batman wore black, he wore no blue. So how then is the BLNR, even a "Batman" if I ask you

If anything I would call it the Day/Night Bezel since it is the same as a blue sky in day and a dark sky at night hours. We could always just call it the Varicose Vein if we're wanting a quirky nickname lol.

I'm loath to justify a comic-book nickname, but I always thought it was because in the comics, Batman's blue costume parts (cowl, cape, gloves, etc.) were shadowed in black.

Agreed. It makes a lot more sense than a black/red bezel.

So, now that there’s a jubilee on what are typically considered more masculine colors than the pink/purplish BLRO, it’s feminine? This wasn’t the case last year. Just seems like there’s a lot of mad og BLNR owners in here.
