Do you have a favourite TV show?
I know, I know, TV is lousy these days. During Summer it gets worse, when the reruns are being rerun for the third time. We have digital TV since a couple of months now, better picture and sound and more channels. But not better content. 5 flavors of MTV, TMF and Discovery, the Weather Channel, blah, blah, blah.
But, still there are programs worthwhile watching. Absolute number 1 for me: Little Britain. You either love it or don’t get it but I’m glued to the set every Thursday. Just like with memorable series as The Red Dwarf and Blackadder. The other one is According to Jim. So, what’s your favourite show or program?

The only show we watch on a regular basis is What Not To Wear on TLC. We've been watching it for years. And we even won an auction to have lunch with one of the principals, Clinton Kelly, which was worth every penny we paid for the charitable donation.
Other than that, TV is truly a vast wasteland.

As far as current programming is concerned, I couldn't even tell you what's on Usually I watch the History, discovery or science channels. My all time favorite shows were
1) M*A*S*H* 2) Hill Street Blues (the most realistic cop show ever made IMHO) 3) Night Court 4)Hogans Heros 5) McHales Navy 6) Barney Miller

As far as "regular " shows go, they would be Two and a Half Men, the Sopranos (yawn lately), The Shield & Rescue Me.
I do watch According to Jim, but only when I come across it flipping channels. Speedvision, OLN , Discovery are channels on my favourite button, but no particular shows that I "must" see.

Well, now that Survivor, The Amazing Race and The Apprentice have ended, TV really sucks. I have watched Big Brother over the summer, but it depends on how interesting the cast is (and what the 'hottie' quotient is).
However, I watch a lot of Discovery, TLC, History and Speed channels. And then there's the Tour de France daily coverage in July (how long daily coverage in North America will last with no Lance, is the big question). And of course the F1 races... Beyond that, Mythbusters is a favorite and re-runs of Ed are on my sat package on Saturday nights. Otherwise, I give the remote to my wife and let her surf channels while I read. |

For the next one month, however, my favourite would have to be Sky Sports Channel 1...world cup fever has already reached a very high pitch with Germany just having scored their FOURTH goal against Costa Rica.
Watching it live, guys, while typing this as well. Score 4 - 2....what a game!!

I had to laugh at the US news coverage of the then, upcoming World Cup.
They had a chart showing which continents ( note NOT countries) and the number of wins/continent. They showed "North America" as having 6 times ( I might be wrong on the number, it's the slanted coverage that got me) I am not an avid soccer fan, but I would guess Canada nor USA have ever one this tourney, that would leave Mexico and some smaller countries as winners in the past. YET, they kept referring to North American winners and the Number FOUR ranking give to team USA. Then on a Canadian coverage channel, they were ripping the ranking system and how the heck USA got a number 4 ranking when they beat , basically, amatuer teams to bump up there win/loss ratio Is Don King involved in this sport now??

Not necessarily, George. Agreed that there is a lot of rubbish on TV nowadays, but in all fairness, there are quite a few watchable programmes too!!

Agggh!
I hate networks! I don't know why the morons haven't started the Sopranos new season yet....come on.....I'm dyin' here! Australian free-to-air TV is just plain awful. They dig up B-grade celebrities and make them dance/sing...ugh Thankfully there are a couple of gems.... 'Absolute Power' and 'Boston Legal'. Shatner always makes me smile. I've also got my collections of Black Books, Blackadder, League of Gentlemen & Twin Peaks, if things get desperate Plus, I've also found out that Pay TV is a tax-deductable expense for me....so that'll soon get put in. |

Amongst the current lineup, I love:
1) House - I reckon Greg Hosue behaves the way most people would love to 2) Boston Legal - Denny Crane's got to be Bill Shatner's best role ever 3) Las Vegas I also keep up with Iron Chef, and Seth McFarlane's Family Guy and American Dad are great for a giggle.

Which season is that, Paul? We're getting the one after Lara Flynn Boyle got blown off the rooftop.

James, 'Family Guy' is a staple in our house. If you don't already have it, get the feature film 'Stewie Griffin, the untold story'... way over the top with proper foul language and so politically incorrect.
I love it. |
