Advice re: service/restoration

I was gifted a Rolex Oyster Quartz by my uncle a while back. It is great looking and I love the blue dial.

It sat in his drawer for a long time since he got a President and it needs a new battery and to be cleaned up. One of the tritium markers also looks like it popped off.

Are there any recommendations re: who I should send it to? Normally I would send to Rolex Dallas, as its closest service center to me, but I am worried they will change the dial to luminova and may not even work on it because it is so old. Don't they refuse to work on some older models now (i.e. "aged out")?

Thanks for any advice you may have!

Some of the shops I've read about on various posts include: Rolliworks, Bob Ridley, ABC Watchwerks, & LA Watchworks...Is one better than the other for this type of work?

Thanks!

Any one of them would be great to send a vintage piece to. I've personally only dealt with Phillip Ridley.

I have read some not so good reviews regarding ABC recently, but have no first hand experience with them.

At least remove the battery if not used. No reason to have that leak

I have used Mark Sirianni ([email protected]) from Kane, PA. Great work, reasonably priced and a super nice guy.

below is his website.

Another vote for the Ridley's. I have had great experience with them.

Rebuilding the Quartz movement is not the same as a pure mechanical example. Make sure that whoever you use is familiar with, and able to get parts, for your Oysterquartz.
