When did the steel Daytona get PCL's?

Hi All

When did the steel Daytona first see the introduction of the polished centre links?

I saw a video somewhere on YouTube saying that they had come in around the time of the zenith Daytona's (mid cycle) ? So the zenith's had started off their lives as a fully brushed bracelet before embracing the PCL's? Can someone please confirm this.

Interested to really find out what the thinking was in making the change over to the PCL's on the steel Daytona.

Thanks

Yes, I think it was 96/97 I remember seeing a flyer in my rolex ad with a picture of the update, my W series has PCL's. First all brushed, then PCL, then PCL with SEL.

I think it was because the Daytona was not loved very much in the early days.
PCL's make it much more beautiful

i am doing the same research and found this thread. i dig everywhere and the only solid information is here: by 2008, steel submariner is still all brushed.

here is steel daytona 2002, i believe the bracelet wasn't original:

I bought a 16520 new in 2000, PCL’s. I have seen some with brushed links, don’t know when the changeover was made.
