I am the warranty!

There's some orange powder on my hands, I don't think it is supposed to be there
Going to 'send it in' for a 'warranty repair'

No, it is some dust coming from one of the small orange indexes.
This bit of dust was rogue ever since I got it brand new, but it has migrated and finally settled on my seconds hand and on the crystal, now I can definitely see it with my naked eye in direct light.

Just going to open it up, take the movement out, blow inside the case and on the dial with the compressed air nozzle on my bench, close it up and back on the wrist.

This thread is useless without a step by step pictorial

Take plenty of pics before you send it in and ask for no polish

If he doesn't get paid he might file a complaint with the labor board against himself

Keep us updated with some pics....it’s neat to see the watchmaker work on his own watch.

Blowing on a dial with some compressed air is hardly 'working on a watch' But I'll take a pic

Quite true, although his projects are definitely a lot more ambitious than repairing Rolex watches

The watch probably just decided to enjoy the Kings Day today. Only way it could get orange on it is by touching hands with the orange indices on the dial. And you know what they say, "When there's a will, there's a way."

I think it was just sloppy workmanship by whoever installed that platinum crown.

Are you going to put some kind of clear stabilizer on the orange so it doesn't keep flaking off?

Maybe! Or the watch is having an allergic reaction to the platinum

Nah, it is so little and I haven't seen more flake off, it's been like this since I got it, the dust just migrated to a more annoying place.

So cool that you have that skill. I’d love to be able to do that!

Nice looking watch btw.
