My Dog just Damaged (Dented) my New GMT.

Was working on sizing the bracelet on my 3 days old GMT 116710LN. I left the watch on top of the kitchen table and went upstairs to get the extra link. When I was coming down the stairs I heard a loud bang. I go to the kitchen and found the GMT laying face down on my tile floor.

Some how my dog “the little devil” managed to climb on the chair and pull the towel where the watch was on. It took me less then 1 minute to go up and down.

The dent is on the bottom of the top right lug. Not really noticeable. But unfortunately is there.

Not planing on doing anything right now as I see it as a battle scar. I’m just going to wear the hell of it and enjoy. The first dent you never forget...ahah

The little Devil “Chico”...ahah

Cheers to Dents...

Oof. That stinks. At least the crystal didn’t crack! And your dog is too cute to be mad at for long.

That dog is too cute to make it even matter.

My Coco - scratched a cpl clasps over the years. When we lost her this past January - it made those scratches priceless to me.

Just my .02

Exactly. You’ll never want to fix that ding once your friend passes. The first ding is the worst, but yours is a real, concrete memory.

Lol that little guy. Awesome watch. It's just something to remember at this point. Sometimes things happen out of your control, but could be worse

Gotta love dogs. I have 2 and they're always a handful, but they pay me back with love, so we're even.

It could have been worse. At least it's not a dent you'll notice while wearing the watch.

Its not too bad. You will always think of your pup while you are wearing it. I wouldn’t even think about polishing it out. Enjoy.

My mother wore my cali dial Tudor for years and somehow managed to chip the crystal. Now that she's gone I always laugh when I wear the watch and wonder how she did it. I'll never replace the crystal.

When your pooch is long gone you'll be happy he dented that lug.

I agree with this, OP. One day, you'll look at that lug when the dog is gone & smile. You'll remember being briefly pissed off, then having a beer & remembering that everything in life is relative.

Should be able to laser weld to build up metal then reform to shape.

Best dent story I’ve heard. A wonderful companion made the memory. No one will ever see it. In 7-8 years you can have it fixed (laser welded), or not.

Enjoy your GMT. That’s my favorite complication ~ you chose wisely!

Cheers
