Please talk me out of it!!!

Dear TRFers,

I am in Tokyo right now and after 50 watch stores I finally could see it in the flesh and put it on my wrist! I was blown away by this thing!! It would be first full PM timepiece...I already own a SD TT with Black Dial and a Datejust TT with champagne Dial and a GMT Master TT with Black Dial and various steel models...

Please give me good reasons, why I should not buy it!!!!

What do you say?

Thanks and br
Torsten

Zip up sweatshirt and a blazer? Sorry Sir, you're not allowed to own this watch. Move along.

That's funny!

Beautiful watch. It even makes you look like a player in your track suit top under your blazer!

Buy it!

I knew that someone would comment on that

I travel lightly with carry-on and it was colder than expected so no coat led me to that questionable outfit

That’s right, with incoming tax it’s more expensive than buying at my local German AD, however this was the first time to see it in the flesh anywhere...

It’s interesting how many are giving advice on my attire, next time I’ll make sure too precheck before with my wife (indeed I have one) before posting

Sorry I am terrible at helping people not buy a Rolex.
But thanks for trying

I went back there today and put on the Everose, which looked like a stealth watch for me, seems like I have the exact everose skin tone...

I have to admit, that thought crossed my mind, being age 42, this could be the watch for my 50th...

You could buy a very nice car for the same amount of money.

You could buy your wife/friend/partner a very nice watch and have money left over.

It doesn't do anything that a stainless steel watch can do (i.e. tell you what time it is).

Seriously, when presented with something like this, I force myself to walk away and think about it. Go back tomorrow and see if you still feel the same way. It's a whole bunch of money for what is basically a frivolous purchase of jewelry, and if you tire of it, you will get hammered on resale value.
Sound advice, thanks!

DO IT, BRO!

Then go buy a new convertible Bentley to properly live the life of the titan you are with that watch.

Destiny awaits, friend. You are ready.
The Bentley will probably not match with my Lambo and Ferrari

If you're looking for a legitimate reason on why to pass...Consider the RG + slate dial model as an alternative. If I were to go full PM SkyD, I would go with that one.

For being talked out of it:
(-) You already have a TT DJ with a champagne dial, some MAY think it could be redundant to have this in the collection as well.
(-) Lots of yellow gold
(-) Price

If you would like to be talked into it:
(-) It is your wrist
(-) It is a really amazing complication that looks great in YG
(-) It did sing to you...

Either way, let us know what happens

The TT DJ is a 16013 36mm from the 80ies, so not that redundant

I a definitely very much intrigued, but the Japanese pricing is probably going to put me off...

YG DD would be a better choice as a more iconic Rolex. SS blue is the way to go for SKYD.

However, you should go ahead and buy it if you like it period.

The DD looks way too small and dainty, It does not have any appeal on me, don’t know why...

The SD with the Blue Dial I tried, too, but was not sending me warm signals, nice, but nothing more
