New BLNR up on DSW

$23,875. Let's see how long before someone pays the premium and sets the market.

I expected the price to be high, but ~$24k is absurd. I'm sure someone will buy it though.

Just cause I can afford it doesn’t mean I lost my mind and don’t value a dollar. Rolex prices have gone beyond my value threshold for what they are.

Reminds me of a line my brother used when car shopping many years back. I think the rep asked what he could afford; the reply was to the effect of "I can afford to pay $100 for a McDonald's cheeseburger. That doesn't mean I'm going to."

That's ridiculous but someone will pay it. Why anyone would do so for the same watch on an uglier bracelet is beyond me.

They can charge $100 per gallon of gasoline, but that doesn’t mean the market will pay it.

Gasoline is a necessity unless you walk or ride a bike.
A luxury watch? Hardly.

Wow..... I wonder how long it will take until someone gets it. I would rather have a PM Daytona with an OF for that money....

He also just put up the WG BLRO with meteorite dial (~$46) also without stickers.

Who would want it so bad that they would pay triple the price? Even if you're a billionaire and are the type to overpay, are you even getting satisfaction wearing a stainless GMT?

Insanity! Everyone always states how wonderful this seller is and stuff. But really I feel like this is too much. It's so gross and dirty what is happening. I don't care if "that's business". It's basically scalping.

I am all for the free market but this has sort of jumped the shark. I have done business with David. Guy is excellent in all respects, but the crazy prices being used to set markets is making me reevaluate the entire secondary market.

I paid over "retail" for my SD4K, Kermit and 16710 because they were all long discontinued when I bought them - that's fine I knew the market and they weren't making any more. I also paid a small premium (like 1500 bucks over MSRP) on my DeepSea because I really wanted it NOS and first version. I was fine with all of that and the service I got on all those transactions from Trusted Sellers was excellent!

That said, it seems that these crazy asking prices to set the market on new stuff is also dragging all the older stuff higher with it, and just making the whole process of trying to enjoy Rolex collecting a PITA - whether it be still in production pieces or 20 year old references.

I am on the list at the AD for three pieces. Might be three years before I get them, but I think while I wait I am done playing any games in the secondary market until some sense of sanity returns. Which is a shame, because there are still a couple of older references I am interested in. Crazy world right now in this "hobby."

It's sad that these greys get new models before regular customers who pre-order from their AD.

No - it's the customer who already had one that sold it to him for profit and he is trying to make his own profit now. Blame the flipper don't blame the grey.

It's a big game my friend....most of us think that these greys are paying MSRP and getting the watches first and making huge profits. It's all about money and power.....greys are offering large amounts of money over MSRP to be the first to carry these watches. And authorized dealers are moving these hot watches out the back door and of course making tons over MSRP on the side and it's a win win on both ends. There is a reason why Rolex is shutting down ADs. ADs are getting watches but out of 10, you will be lucky if you get 1. That's why you see empty cases. Think about it.....would you sell the watch for $9250 or would sell the watch for "$9250" on receipt and then make another $5000 on top out the back door to grey dealers.

No sane AD will take the risk so early in the release. All they need is for Rolex to snap up the watch to check the Serial number and they lose their AD status.

This is just from a lucky sod that got his AD to give him the watch and he flipped it to David. If you have too much time - send some pictures to David and ask what his buy price is and the mystery is solved.

Oh I am not saying they get 100% of their watches from ADs.....and this one may not be the case either....I am just saying what I know is happening from dealers to greys on many occasions.

Interesting to note that DavidSW has an unworn/protective plastics in place oyster BLNR for sale for $16,975. Apparently the jubilee adds $7,000 in value?
