Switching from SD43 to other SS models

I wear my SD43 daily more than the others in my collection. But when I wear my Sub or GMT it feels too small for my wrist. I know going from 43 to 40 will take a few days to get use too. Anyone else feel at odds with this?

Going from my 44mm DSSD to my 36mm DJ's felt like I was wearing a ladies watch so I recently purchased an OP39mm. With this said, I still wear all of my smaller size watches and enjoy them just as much. Yes, it does take a little while to get used to their smaller size.

I do not have SD43 but agree going from Panerai to Sub/GMT really feels weird.
But for the past 2 years, I'm almost always at 40 and can't imagine myself going back to 44.

I got rid of the Panerai for this reason. The larger case size didn’t feel right.

I wear 36-40mm Rolexes all my life, then I found my grail, the SD43, and when I put my beloved 116610 in my wrist do not feel the same anymore. I really like the badass, I need to buy now a DSSD.

Same problem here going from 44+ divers to YM40. At least when you go from SD43 to Sub, the dial size is the same. Case size is less important to me than dial size. I find it harder going from a large dial to a small one.

Yes, it does take time to adjust. If you an average size wrist, both sizes will work equally well.

It’s normal, I felt the same going from my subc to dj36. But now I love how the dj36 feels on my wrist, it’s the most comfortable and most proportional looking on my wrist, and it no longer feels too small even when going from the sub to dj.

I wear my SD43 daily. On those days when I switch to my 14060M I certainly feel the difference in weight and presence.
But that's exactly what I'm going for on those days.
There are days when I want to "take it down a notch".
I enjoy those days - it's like hanging out with an old friend.

Yep the SD43 has ruined my collection due to its amazing wrist presence. I don't mind as the 43 is a beauty.

The smallest I can go now is my DD40. Absolutely love the SD43, liking the DeepSea44 more and more lately and have always loved my 44 APs. I truly feel a 36 really is a ladies watch now but when you consider many women wear Daytonas, subs and larger APs now, the 36 is more just a “wimpy” watch than the “ladies” many used to label it. Give those ladies some credit, they are really stepping up their game. I was at a dinner this week with a big group of attorneys from a large M&A firm and almost every woman there had what would have been considered a “man’s” watch years ago, some stunners too. I assume your body/wrist type and environment has a lot to do with that as well.

Personal choice. Anything over 40 is too big, too heavy, and tiresome after a long day. Just me, but 36-40 is my happy place.

The SD43 has ruined 40mm watches for me. The Pepsi gets no wrist time at all. I am also thinking about getting a 126660 James Cameron now because of how much I enjoy the larger watch and wrist presence.

I've been wearing my DSDD D-Blue every day since I got it about a month ago but I am accustomed to large watches as my collection also includes several 47mm Panerai, a 47mm Ennebi, 45mm Graham and an Omega Ploprof. My smallest watch is my 40mm Explorer II and when I wear that it feels like a kids size now. I find that after about 2 weeks I am quite used to any of them. My bronze Ennebi is plenty comfortable but it very tall and therefore won't fit under a long sleeve shirt so that means its a short sleeve watch primarily, or I have to roll up the sleeve a bit.

I was wearing a SS SubC before I transitioned to the Red Line 43 and I can’t transition back. Whenever I put any other watch on, it feels small in comparison.
