Your Recommendation: Hulk vs Batman

Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker on this forum for awhile and finally decided to join. I wanted to get your experiences and recommendations on which watch I should get next. I have read a few other older threads that did the same comparison, but I wanted to see what everyone's opinions are given the current grey market prices of both watches. (Hulk around $13k, Batman around $15k). This will be a watch that I'll be wearing 50% of the time (switching with my Omega dark side of the moon watch). Also, I have a few questions as well.

1) For people who own the Hulk, do you feel like there is too much green or does it stand out too much when you are wearing it casually?
2) I'm not really a fan of the mirror polish along the center links of the Batman, I think that it scratches easily. Is this true?
3) I'm willing to pay the grey market prices, but I feel that the Batman is just wayyy up there due to the new release of the blnr.

I do not own either but PCL’s (polished center links) are well known to be scratch magnets.

I feel the grey market pricing for the Batman is absurd.

You ever consider getting the new BLNR with the jubilee bracelet? With some time and patience you might get one for MSRP. Upgraded movement and less scratch prone bracelet.

This is what I would do. Paying those inflated prices is crazy.

Between the two I would pick the BLNR.

Ya, in most photos the scratches are pretty obvious. I feel that it would bother me in the long run. I would be interested in a blnr at msrp, but getting onto a wait-list without any prior purchases would be difficult and the wait is probably over a year at this point.

I own both and have found that the Hulk has scratched a lot more than the Batman , mainly one the clasp area

The clasp on Jubilee is the same and this part of bracelet gets the vast majority of scracthes

1) no, the Hulk basically looks like a black sub from a few yards away in normal light, not flashy at all
2)yes, especially desk scratches
3)grey price is indeed high

I have both and this is pretty spot on.

Hulk is the perfect SoCal summer watch...looks awesome outdoors in sunlight and even love the sheen from BCL’s. Hulk also “feels” a little larger on the wrist if you’re inclined to larger watches or have a larger wrist.

I actually like the PCL’s on the BLNR. They give some pop to the watch when indoors during the dreary winter months.

I own both and love both. If I absolutely had to choose, it’d be the Hulk. The green isn’t overpowering or flashy. It changes depending on the light from green to black. The PCLs do show scratches more than the brushed, but that is part of what makes the Batman a fantastic piece.

I own both and I would absolutely hate to have to get rid of either of them but if really had to I think I would keep the BLNR as the function of the watch is more useful to me.
I would really miss the bracelet and glidelock from the LVc though.

I don't feel the PCL on a SS are that bad. Now, I can tell the PCL on my CHNR are much worse.

I think the BLNR is crazy priced.....but I also have a feeling the Hulk is going to get up that way eventually, too. I can't believe I was looking at old TRF classifieds literally from 2017 where Hulks were going for like $8500-9000. You basically can't even get in the door now for under $13k....and even at $13k none seem to have papers. I'm also considering it...and 6 months ago I would have said there is NO WAY I'm ever paying anywhere near that ever for a Hulk.

I own both. They are both fantastic but if I really had to keep only one it would be the Hulk.

I had the same dilemma deciding between the Hulk and Batman. I went with the Hulk mainly because of the dial. When I saw it in the flesh, it won me over.

1) The sunburst dial changes depending on the lighting conditions. It can go from dark (even black) green to a bright green dial depending on how the light reflects off the dial. I don't think it's too green at all. If I was going to be really picky, I would say the bezel could probably be a darker shade of green, but that is a minor criticism.
2) The PCLs definitely pick up micro scratches and fine hairline scratches much more easily than a brushed link.
3) Prices for the 116710BLNRs have certainly gone crazy after the new BLNR jubilee was announced. All SS Rolex sports watch prices are crazy and I think the BLNR is the craziest along with the SS DaytonaC.

I have both watches in current collection and here are my inputs to your questions

1. I wear Hulk with any occasion, business meetings, casual weekends, you name it. I find it not too green for daily use and to be honest I kinda like when dial/bezel changes under different lights.
2. Yes, PCL on Batman get scratches way easier than brushed. However, this not annoy me like how PCL can be easily looks dirty
3. If I have to choose to have only one of these watches in my collection, I might choose to keep Batman as it fits better with the rest of my collection where I have 3 other diving watches.
However, if I have to choose between these two for only one watch collection, I will definitely go with Hulk (brushed bracelet, glidelock, diving bezel and unique green)

We recently had a discussion about the Hulk, and multiple people thought the bezel looked like a green garden chair (including me).
I thus recommend you to go to a grey and try on both of them, it will help you make an informed decision.

I prefer my 16610LV to the ‘hulk’ and I have two GMT’s.

I have had both, the hulk stayed. Having said that, neither would be the wrong choice.

Hulk is a marmite watch, you either love it or hate it, but you won’t know until it’s been on your wrist a while. After a week on the wrist I couldn’t stand that washed-out green bezel any more even though I’d fallen for the dial.

BLNR is pretty simple, it’s a nice steel Rolex. I like it but don’t love it.
