New here, looking at DD 36 v. 40 W/G maybe Plat

Hi everyone! Have lurked here for awhile and finally joined. I have a dilemma on my hands, I’m finally gonna pull the trigger on a DD for special occasions and formal events, definitely not an everyday watch for me. My everyday watch is the 40mm Apple Watch, doesn’t have lugs like a Rolex and definitely wears like a smaller watch, plus I drive all day so it suits my purposes to having information very handy. I don’t know the size of my wrist but I would say it’s on the smaller side, I’m 5’11 and fairly thing framed.

My dilemma is choosing between the 36mm or the 40mm. I owned a DJ in the past and it didn’t feel small to me. I recently stopped at an AD and tried on the 40mm and while it didn’t feel too large on my wrist, it did feel heavy. I’m also kind of clumsy sometimes so I feel like the larger watch would be prone to me damaging it. I’m either looking to get the watch in WG or Platinum in either size.

My question is do you as owners drastically notice a difference in the sizes? I appreciate any input. Thanks in advance!

Cheers!
