YM va SUB

Hey guys

I was in the market for an every day, all the time, rarely off the wrist watch.
I came across a pretty ridiculous deal on a SS Yachtmater 16622. So I jumped at it. I’m starting to feel like maybe it’s a bit too flashy for an all the time watch?
Has anybody worn a YT as their daily and how has it held up?

Thinking about trading it in for a birth year 1988 sub.

I love the 16622 and have worn it in rotation for years. It is a bit flashier with the PCLs but I think it's more comfortable to wear than a sub.

The YM is much more comfortable than the older subs. Just make sure you can read the YM dial in low light. I could not.

Depends what you’re looking for. A yachtmaster is less mainstream for sure which I think is cool. How many YMs have you seen for every Sub? Very few. It’s still very versatile and a more luxury piece imo. If I were looking to buy between the 2 I’d go YM. If you can compare them to cars the YM would be a Mercedes S63 AMG (luxury sport) and the Sub a CLS550 (sport). Give it some more wrist time and you’ll fall in love.

A 16610 would be better in the long run than a 16622 however have you considered a ceramic bezel Sub?

I have both.

They are both excellent refs in their own right.

Birth year sub would be great. But im not sure the YM is any flashier than a daytona or gmt.
