As Abdullah71601 pointed out on the previous thread on these folding gems, in the near future you may not need a phone and an iPad or such large phones when this technology gets sorted out.
One device could do everything. |

I'd be in for one, but I would need a lot in return. Battery life, portability, processor speed, memory, and of course not cost $2,000.00 +

If it means the phone will be thicker, no thanks.

Folding Phones -- an expensive gimmick (IMHO.)

I noticed the patent is not for a phone that folds, instead it is for a screen that folds in different directions. Perhaps by the time this screen is part of a device, it might be a thin folding display for a more capable and smaller smartphone without a large display.
As we overcome the size limits of current battery form factors, I see the 6G phones being the size of an Apple Watch. So a large screen would be an optional display like the patent described. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I like the idea of having access to a bigger screen but sacrificing a thinner device and potential longevity (even when this is more reliable later down) sort of put me off actually owning one of these.

I don't like the huge phones, so this is a no for me. I don't want or need a bigger screen.
