Do explain. I care about modern day function, not monetary values or rarity. I dont need faded bezels or yellow lume that doesnt work anymore. i still work, swim and travel with my watches. I dont need a "collection" I could take out and look at by myself on a Saturday night. Ill let my own watches become classics to me. That double red SD is beautiful but Id rather wear modern watches with glidelocks, ceramic bezels, etc. anyway.

Some nice offerings there. Agree with the author, that DRSD is kinda meh.

You even have a 1665 in your avatar... OK the 2 lines of red writing may cost a lot more, but the 1665 is a great vintage model, the domed crystal without cyclops alone are very cool features.

Great looking watches but not for me. I am so far off the vintage Rolex cycle that even if I had the money, I would not buy these watches.

Folks aren’t reading the description about the DRSD. A serious red flag is NOT a good thing to associate with a double red dial. Add in the non-original hands, bezel insert and crown (and who knows what else), and you have an example that a lot of bidders will likely pass on.
Though all it takes is a couple less savvy folks to get into a bidding war.......

There is always going to be something better that you don't yet have. I used to think Rolex was the best, now I have three tourbillons didn't even know what a tourbillon was when I got my first Rolex.
I'd love to have one of these but I can't justify spending that kind of money on a single watch, so it's probably not going to happen in this lifetime. Plus the wife would kill me. |
