OFFICIAL: 2019 Major League Baseball thread!
What is your team?
The Angels are blessed with Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani and look set for the World Series this year! What is your MLB experience??? Have you caught a home run at MLB game?? Does it sound crazy for a guy aged 50 to buy a new baseball glove to wear it with a Rolex ?

Lifelong dodgers fan, but sadly the majority of Southern California fans cannot watch them on tv due to a tv contract that no carriers want to pay for. Going on 5 years now I think. I’ve been missing the best stretch of dodgers baseball in my lifetime because of this. Not to mention the last seasons of the great Vin Scully.

Today happened to be a nationally televised game. Not sure it’d work, otherwise. For you, yes, since you’re out of the SoCal market. For me, no. I’d have to mask or hide my IP address. Then it gets to the point of too much hassle to watch a game. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Help me out Steve. Is it safe to give Kershaw and the Dodgers vs San Diego my undivided attention. Or do I need to keep checking the AfterDark forum also? |

I was sorry to hear of the death of Jim Bouton. Loved reading Ball Four. It humanized many of my childhood idols. I saw him pitch when he brought his knuckleball to the Portland Mavericks.
RIP Jim |

Two captivating players for sure, with Trout being an all-time great and Ohtani having such intriguing potential. Just don’t see it for the team, though, sorry. Not enough pitching, and the Astros are a lock to win the division.
As for my team, you never know, but I’m thinking #28 is possible. |

The Dodgers won a thrilling end game today in the bottom of the 11th by a rookie hitting a home run against the Colorado Rockies.

Was at that game! That entire series was stressful. I try to take the family to at least one Dodger game a year. The kids seem to be taking a liking to it (with enough popcorn, ice cream and dodger dogs ).

Atlanta Braves since the Dale Murphy days. I also root for the Angels in the AL.

I went to Game 1 and Game 6 of the 1997 World Series (Marlins vs Indians). Went to some Giants games as a kid in the early 90's in San Fran. But my favorite MLB game I've ever attended was July 4th 2006 at the Nationals game in D.C. Tied score, bottom of the 9th, Zimmerman up to bat. He blasts a walk off homerun, fireworks on top of fireworks, I was in the second row near home plate. I got a baseball after the game, and I had just gotten my Bachelor's degree a few weeks earlier. It was the best day of an incredible trip to D.C.
I don't really follow baseball nowadays, but I watch some Youtube videos by Jomboy who provides some hilarious breakdowns of different things that occur in different MLB games. |

Here's the glove: Wilson A2000.
Its an infield glove. WilsonA2000.jpg The Cleveland Indians are an awesome team. Not sure what to say about the removal of the Chief Wahoo logo, but the team is still as great as ever.

Yeah, I was sad to see Chief Wahoo go. The block C logo looks a little bland to me. Ownership had to remove the mascot for consideration to host the all-star game. I can appreciate both perspectives..... ish. |

If they get one more starter, they'll be tough to beat. Great record up to this point with most of the starters on IL.

Go Jays go!
Unfortunately it’s going to be a couple of years until they compete again... Caught a foul ball a couple of years ago but no HR yet! |

Cubs fan.
Best experience at Wrigley was two years ago when we went to a Sunday day game. The first 1,000 kids into the park get to run the bases after the game. Watching my son and daughter run the bases at Wrigley Field was a really special treat and went a long way to helping me forget Lester gave up 12 runs in the first inning. My kids are the fifth generation of my family to watch a game at the friendly confines. Go Cubs Go! When my son started Tee Ball I bought us both new gloves. No matter how small the reason there’s always a great excuse to buy a new glove. |

For those who truly enjoy the game but can’t watch it as much as you want you should check out JOMBOY Media breakdowns on YouTube. I’m in no way affiliated just started watching them a few weeks ago and the channel has blown up as far a subscribers go. They are funniest and most fun recaps available. Nothing like it on ESPN or MLB. Total love of the game.

As promised. 2018 World Series Game 1 Red Sox vs Dodgers. We were sitting 3rd baseline just past the Dodgers dugout and at the end of each inning one of the Dodger players would toss a ball to the stands, this ball ended up with the photographers in front of us and they graciously handed it to my son. I grew up a long suffering New England sports fan (at least Sox and Pats), my son has adopted them and of course he has seen nothing but W’s. |
