My Foolish Reasoning for Passing on a Hulk 2 Years Ago

This story has a happy ending in that I’ve acquired my Hulk 2 weeks ago from my AD.

2 years ago I was in that same AD holding a Hulk which I didn’t buy. My foolish reasoning at the time was that I felt it was too ostentatious for my job. I investigate professions and sometimes tell them they have lost their privileges and their livelihood. They almost always complain about everything. I felt that wearing a Hulk while telling someone they can’t work anymore would not be wise.

A co-worker who wears a Sub told me no one notices unless they are also watch guys.
So contacted my AD and got the incoming call a month later.

Lesson learned. Don’t worry about what people may think; you weren’t put in this earth to please others.

That was the mistake I corrected 5 years ago.

Same mistake I made to daytona, JC blue. Luckily I had the chance to make it right before the current craziness.

Actually it applied to my YG DD experience as well

I now regret passing on one as well because I wanted a black one. Now I don’t have either. Because I thought I would be able to buy it anytime I wanted. Subs were always available everywhere. I am mad at myself now.

I have been blessed and I have lavished my wife on her dreams, and I have only benefited from giving to her.

Amazing how little other people's opinions matter when the price doubles.

There is no rational reason for going without something you want and can afford, just because other people might not agree with your choices. Life is not a rehearsal.

Congratulations on both getting such a wonderful watch and doing what's right for you, not strangers.

I agree that we all have to do what's right for us first and foremost. However, there's something to be said about caring about other people's feelings. In fact, that's hardly a character flaw, it's something we all should keep in mind and aspire to.

But, to deprive oneself of a truly desirable Rolex might be a stretch! lol.
