Wives just don’t have any idea...am I alone?

We’re abroad on holiday and my wife isn’t wearing her watch during the day. We were getting ready to go out for dinner and she handed me her watch and at the same time said the battery had run out!!

26401PO They were recently discontinued but had a long production so not too hard to find. Still one of the best deals in AP as it originally retailed for over $100k before AP had their price drop and the LE models it PT still go for much more than this piece.

The newer one with blue ceramic and camo strap is steel vs this one is platinum.

This is the updated version but is a LE of 20. https://www.audemarspiguet.com/en/wa....OO.A002CR.01/

It’s a bit like the 5711 vs the 5711P, the platinum pre anniversary model that people thought was an urban myth. The differences are there but they’re quite subtle. The blue face on the new watch is a brighter blue and together with the blue ceramic I could imagine that in bright sunlight the blue will really stand out.

I have to set my wife's Rolex and Breitling EVERY TIME.

The good thing is she at least buys in and understands my crazy obsession with these things. She doesn't give me a hard time about all the hours I spend here and researching the next piece, or even buying that next watch.

Seems easy enough. It took a while but my wife hates tinkering with things, but somehow after going over it a few times and appreciating how important it is and that with proper care it will outlive us both, she now does everything on her own.

I guess it really boils down to whether she cares about the watch in the first place. Don't confuse how you feel for how she feels. A fancy watch or any watch may just not be the thing for her.

My wife does the same thing with her DJs as she rotates wearing various watches. She at least knows they are automatic, but also knows it's easier to just had it to me to set.

Nothing sexist about it, seems like you're the only one who perceived it like that. If you look for the boogie man hard enough, you can find one.

No he’s not. I think it’s sexist. My wife thinks it’s sexist. And a lady who is a member here thinks it’s sexist. Both ladies felt insulted.

IMO, a guy would need an excess of neanderthal alleles to not see the problem with this thread.

Complete opposite here. We were at a Grand Seiko event over the weekend and she got herself a GS GMT so she can keep track of the time when she travels. She even got the President of Grand Seiko USA to sign the box and he took the watch and is having the back engraved for her. I am just hoping she will let me wear some of her watches from time to time.

I set my wife’s watch, but when she picks me up at the airport, she’ll be wearing her SD, but the time and date will be whenever it last stopped.

She does love it, but less as a timekeeper and more as a gift from me and piece of jewelry.

Nope. My Wife knows how to wind her watches. I always check to see if her date is set and it usually isn't, not because she doesn't know how to set it but she apparently doesn't care about the correct date being set.

Instead of ragging on the wife why don't you just communicate how it works?

That is soo funny. She know how it works, she's just looking for some sucker to set it for her.

Women learned centuries ago that letting men think they were the intelligent ones enabled them to get them to do anything for them.

Neil those are the gospel words. My wife thinks hers is superior because it ‘doesn’t stop ticking’ little does she know. I win
