If you own a Rolex that is your Grail let’s see it. It can be any Rolex as long as it’s your special watch!

My favorite watch on the planet. And let's face it, how else would I be able to tell time when swimming around 12,000 feet down?!

I dont necessarily subscribe to the grail theory ... or perhaps I havent met mine yet

Nevertheless, these two Rolex are probably all I will ever need from the brand

Hi guys, I'm new to the forums and it has been a long time coming since I have owned 2 Rolex pieces in my 1 year of watch collecting with my first Rolex bought 2 months ago! I started out with an Air King having been on the fence about whether it was right floor me in place of the explorer 1 (apparently many people go back and forth between the two). I had even tried both on at a grey dealer bit ultimately believed both to be too large for my 6.5" wrist.

Fast forward a few months and I notice my AD has an Air King in stock and bring a steel sports model I had realised that it was an uncommon sight and devised to give it another go. Much to my surprise it felt perfect on the wrist and I don't know what led me to believe it was too big in the first place. I immediately bought it and couldn't be happier with it. Having worn an Omega Speedmaster Reduced Co-Axial 38mm watch before I couldn't believe how small it felt after going back to wearing it a few weeks after purchasing my Air King. I sold it and made a loss which was a lesson to me that Omega are a very soft brand and though I am not a flipper I certainly like the feeling that the watches I wear hold their value

Now... Forward 2 months... After visiting my local AD almost every weekend to see what new pieces they have, on a chance visit a couple of days ago I see....a Submariner Bluesy.... On display...a unicorn. I took a quick picture of it and then as I finished up a sales consultant asked how I liked the watch. He said he recognised me from seeing my visits to the display and asked if I wanted to try the Bluesy on. Apparently he said it had been on display for an hour and that someone had put a deposit for it but was coming back later in 40 minutes to see if he wanted to keep it. I didn't think of the ethics at the time unfortunately (I felt bad later) but after much deliberation (in 20 minutes) pulled the trigger...

The AD was very friendly as they were when I purchased my Air King and they told me that they were beginning to understand my love for watches and that they did note that a relationship was starting to happen which I was grateful for them pointing it out. They told me they would call me if any future pieces that they thought I would like would come in. I alike a lot to them about my current collection and they were very respectful.

Couldn't be happier.

Here are the pictures of all the watches I found on display and purchased.

Thank you for the photos and comments. Finding your Grail is complicated. As one poster noted: "the grail is the next one."

PLEASE limit your posts to Rolex photos and discussion!

Thanks TRF members
