Grand Seiko SBGK002

So my wife recently bought a SBGK002, I think pics don't do it justice but since she really fell in love with the watch ever since it was introduced earlier this year resell value and the other stuff does not really matter but I was still curious if we got a decent deal at $26,500 (including taxes). Also, how is this watch viewed by the true Grand Seiko aficionados?

I would post pics but I don't have the patience to deal with the technical problems (file size too large)...

Decent enough price, but not something you really ought to be giving much thought to.
Lovely watch, one of the first GSes to be adorned with an Urushi dial, and as she has fallen for it, then that is really all that truly matters.

hope it brings her many years of happy ownership, and inquisitiveness from those whom she interacts with.

I think it's awesome she opted for the GS over the more obvious choices in that price bracket. It's an exquisite watch and any GS fan would give it the nod.

Truly a beautiful watch. A happy wife makes it even better – no matter what the price.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Will try to post some on the wrist pics soon... and I agree it is really cool that my wife does not follow any brand names and just went for it because she likes the look... I must say when we bought the watch it was my first time to ever actually see Grand Seiko in person and was able try on some snowflakes. I must say I really like them and will probably get one as well soon.

Congratulations! SBGK002 is stunning and I really like the additional 12 & 6 on dial compare to non-LE version SBGK005.

Two thumbs up. I love it - probably wouldn’t be everybody’s use of 26k but it’s cool that she’s into it for the look

Love the Dial finish and color of this watch

When I first saw this model at the Beverly Hill GS Boutique, I fell in love with it. Didn't have that kind of cash for this watch then; but it has always been on my mind. A grail watch for sure. But recently, there were some for sale on Ebay for about $22K. Still a lot of money, but what a beauty; perfectly balanced and finished watch!
