How to un-tool your tool watch... new trend in Taiwan...
I saw this recently in Taiwan and had to share it with you guys. There is a new trend for Rolex buyers to apply clear plastic covering all over their watches to protect them from dings/dents/scratches. Think of the phone screen protectors, but all over your watch.
I think it defeats the purpose of these watches, and it looks awful. It's doing quite well as locals like their watches looking brand spanking new. See YouTube link here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm9Fl5fJSFs Lastly, I am in no way associated with the company, I just thought it's something we can get a good laugh at. |

There has been posts of similar offers in recent weeks. It’s one of the most controversial topics on here. Reminds me of when someone asks which brand of oil/weight is best on a car forum.

People have been talking/asking about a 'clear bra' for your watch for awhile now. My first time seeing this product but I'm not surprised to see it. I'm sure they will sell. For people who flip their watches often it may appeal to them as a way to keep its value.

I'm going to charge extra if I ever see stickers like that on a watch. €100 for sticker removal.

I'm going to put stickers on my clasp just to preserve the memories of my current dings and scratches.

I think there are some mental health issues associated with this kind of behaviour.

They want to resell their Rolexes eventually. And so, this kind of protection method is expected. Who can denigrate them, in the current market situation?

Anyone with a proper perspective that a Rolex is a tool on the wrist, subject to scratches and damage, that can eventually be repaired to look like new and not view it as an investment, which it is not?

I know some people that keep the factory stickers on as long as they can even if its half way peeling off and starting to turn black...
